I think these movies are scary due to the fact it’s more realistic than a man killing you in your dreams and you die in real life lol also yes these movies are based on real events from the director, I believe he said it’s a mix of Charles Manson murders and some murders that happened in his neighborhood

This was my favorite Strangers movie and holy cow, Bailee was amazing in this role. The music, characters, just so amazing in this. The first one was great too, it was a home invasion and this was more of a slasher and I loved every second of it and that ENTIRE pool scene with the music playing and the scene with Sackhead behind the brother chasing him in the pool ? FUCKING SCARY. The first movie does not compete with a scene like that like holy cow. And the ending of this with the burning car? I got freaking chills more than a few times. I recently seen this movie a couple nights ago and I haven't seen a GREAT horror movie since Scream 6.

Ok to make things clear here these movies are not actually based on things that happened but on the other hand they are based off of home invasion stories that happened in the area that the writer of the movies lives in so there is that. The strangers are ficional characters and the things they do is all made up. I love both the movies and yes this one wasn't well recived but I don't care I love Bailey Maddison who plays the sister here and I love the music they use in the soundtrack for this one as well. I love the iconic line in the first one 'why you doing this to us?' and the answer 'because you were home' so cool any way just so you know there is a new movie coming out that I think is a prequil to the first movie and the trailer looks good so hopefully it's as fun and scary as these two were. Grate reaction.

I really like prey at night. Maybe more than the first one, despite the first one probably being better. I love that the ending focuses on how the trauma effected these characters rather than setting up a sequel. Golly gee I sure hope the reboots cam capture what I genuinely love about these two movies! Based on a true story! Only this true story was worse. True story: An abused woman had 4 children. 2 daughters. 2 sons. She moved often. She eventually found a cabin near the woods. Each person was given a key. Each family suffered a harder life. Government assistance needed. A neighbor was verbally abusive. He too has a family. A wife. And a son. The mom was approached by the neighbor, his wife and their adult friend. They asked that mom if she could accept their son spending a night? She accepted. Her youngest son was a friend of their young son. Both under 10. That night the oldest daughter who was considered a woman left out for the night. This single mom 's daughter . She went with a friend to her 🏠 and had a 🎉. They never left that party the entire night. So , that single mom was left with 3 kids and a boy. Around or after midnight, a knock was heard. Or the killers were already inside her house. No one knows? Not a witness. The mom was beaten senseless. Her glasses were knocked off. She was shot. The oldest son was choked and shot. The youngest daughter was missing but her skull was found a year later in the woods. A man called it in. He said," it was the daughter's" ? How can he know! It was her! It was her skull! The 2 young boys were sleeping in a room. They were drowsy. Did not wake up throughout the 3 killings! They slept hard. There was no blood on them 2 . His room was in the same condition. No bloody clothing hidden . No evidence. So the boys did not participate. The oldest daughter who left did not participate. But she found all them the next morning 7 hours later. House a mess. Blood every where but the boy room. Since the missing daughter did not participate...she was ruled out. Her skull found . The only one the cops could blame was the neighbor? He was mean. And his son was at the mom's house sleeping. So they think that mean acting neighbor did that murder because his son was not hurt!! But nothing bloody found in his house. No muddy shoes. No strange finger prints. See, no proof!!!

I loved the first movie but my biggest problem with this movie is that it’s just a straight up slasher. They ditched all the aspects that made the first movie scary and really good. I didn’t like that they ditched the psychological horror stuff. Like the scene in the first movie where the guy with the bag head stalked behind the woman while she was smoking a cigarette and then disappeared.

Based on a true story/based on true events, it can mean anything. Meaning they can take a basic premise (actual event) and then make up the details. So, say a dude breaks into an apartment building, locks it down, and offs a bunch of people. A studio could take that premise and then make up how he did it, what he did it with, when he did it, etc. Or they can take a tiny detail, ex., a woman is kidnapped, and then make up their own premise. The first movie was them taking a tiny detail (something that happened to the director, I believe) and creating a premise. The second one is more so them taking a premise and then creating the details. I hope that made sense 😂

I will forever be frustrated by the scene with Christina Hendrix just standing there not even making the smallest effort to protect herself. Are we really supposed to accept that she wouldn’t even TRY!? And if they were going to do her that dirty, it could have at least been for a better reason, like a sacrifice to save her kids. Instead, she held on to her daughter’s hands the entire time, instead of insisting she run! I’m so annoyed 😂😭
