The fact that the Strangers left the keys in their truck, and it was running, but Ryan was dumb enough to move right past it. Three people wrote this film. One of them being the original writer of the previous 2 movies. That TO BE CONTINUED is very ambitious.

The original strangers was so good because so much was left up to the imagination. The killers weren’t shown, the acting wasn’t dramatic, you could really put yourself in the scene. Plus, hello. Liv Tyler!

They got so much profit off othe the first 2 movies, that it don't even matter how this one turns out, they already had the budget for it + more. Not to mention, people like me who loved the first 2 movies are sure to tune in for this one, and moreover, I love The strangers universe, so no matter if I liked this one or not, I am for sure watching the 2 upcoming movies. Also, I guess I'm the odd one, but I enjoyed this movie, especially the last 15 minutes, I was really biting my nails, cause I know what's coming and I'm dreading it.

The issue I have with the remake is how they attempted to expand and add details to make it more than what it is, and that defeats the purpose of the original. The intention of The Strangers was to illustrate the terror and harsh truth of a home invasion (and it was based on true stories). Nothing less, nothing more. The line, "Because you're home," indicates that this could happen to anyone at any moment. There is no reasoning or explaination behind the murder, which made it SCARY. The remake was more structured with the Strangers killing people who stayed at this cabin. Now I'm not saying murders don't happen in cabins, but it's not something we need to worry about because it's AVOIDABLE. I would never stay in a cabin in a town where people are acting weird. But I could come home from dinner one night and end up getting attacked by psychos who chose me at random to kill. You know what I mean? Idk, hopefully this made sense.

"This is a story of one of the most brutal" The couple each get stabbed once... You know how I feel about the original, so I went into this with low expectations, yet not low enough! Definitely thought Ryan was in on it, he was so either nonchalant or suspicious most of the movie. I guess it's kinda fun to wonder who in the town is a stranger, or if they're just covering for the murderers to keep property cost down. What I do love about us horror fans though, is that we're like yeah this movie is terrible, of course I'll be watching the rest of the trilogy! 😂

fun fact!! the axe scene was real, the scream was EXTREMELY real, no cgi! she talked about it in an interview and said cgi just wouldn’t do it justice and that she REALLY trusted the person behind the door. it’s really interesting to hear her talk about, she has way more guts than i ever could.
