I'm a hiker for more than 20 years, I have encountered Amorphophallus titanum for many times, but never seen it when it blooms with my own eyes because of its infrequent bloom period. You guys did a good job, and you worth the valuable experience.

@lightsalt8279 2 ай бұрын
@cobaltblue2756 No, different species. The suweg you mean is "Walur" or "Amorphophallus variabilis". Relatively smaller and shorter with height between 0.5 - 1.5 meters, brighter color (light yellow, red, blue, etc), grows mostly in coastal areas, and is easy to cultivate. Meanwhile, "Amorphophallus titanium" is much bigger, can reach more than 3 meters in height, darker color (deep purple), mostly grows wild in the canopy of tropical forests at an altitude of 120 - 365 meters above sea level, and is difficult to cultivate.

I would legit just watch a full series dedicated to just the filming of these documentaries. It's incredible what they have to go through just to get that shot. And I'm pretty convinced that there is just more footage that never makes it to screen either.

Respect!!! All of these guys are working tirelessly and in extreme conditions to deliver the rarely seen footage to millions of viewers across the world and about our Earth’s unique treasures. It is unbelievably hard and painstaking work, in challenging circumstances. Barely anyone’s all the work, what’s behind the documentaries we see on tv or online about the world’s flora and fauna. These people are extraordinary. Thank you.

I know someone in Australia who films wildlife. He and his girlfriend go out to a location and camp out for weeks just to get the right picture or film. So it is not as easy as it sounds or looks. It takes a special type of person for this work. As it can be frustrating.
