The strangest holiday cards I’ve ever sent

This video is all about my froggy holiday cards, artistic inspiration and creative musings. I worked with neocolor 2 crayons, gelatos and luminance colored pencils on some small pieces of Montval canson watercolor paper.

I find that repeating a subject matter frees me to change the color palette which changes the character of the piece which then leads to new ways of making the original piece - if that makes sense. I like your frogs. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Peggy! Oh, I’ve seen other artists do what you describe - keep the subject but change the palette. I think I saw Shirley Trevena bring that up in one of her books - making a painting in her usual bright colors and then trying it out with neutrals. What an interesting experiment… that will have to go on my list for 2024. :-)

Right now, I'm painting skies and then using water soluble graphite pencils to draw birds flying across the sky. I then drag a wet with water only brush over the birds and create a sense of movement. It's been fun! And how does one go about getting on YOUR card list? :)
