I must be weird because I actually like how the Platinum rare cards look when the light isn't on them. I'll admit they don't look the best when out of the light, but I feel there is a charm to the foil finish they have.

What if they just did a standard edition and deluxe edition of structure decks? Standard edition would be what we have now, in the box with the deck and a awful mat and then deluxe would kinda be like this. A better mat, maybe the boss monster in a higher rarity, sleeves, a premium pack, etc. That way you'd buy the premium/deluxe/whatever for the 50-60 bucks and then just spend 20 dollars more to get the other 2 structure decks so you wont have to pay 150+ to have 3 of each card.

Platinum rarity looks cool, at least to me, but you have to have a full platinum rarity deck to look good. You can have SRs, URs in a deck of commons and look good, but platinum rares stick out like an ugly sore thumb. I think that's what got people the most. If there were way more platinum rare decks, people would lighten up to the idea.

If you're familiar with the Legend of the Five rings tcg/ccg sets (not to be confused with the lcg card game) AEG released a promo only set called Forgotten Legacy, which at the time was priced at $100, and the set was so broken that you pretty much were forced to buy a set if you wanted to have a chance at making a finals in a tournament. Then, they released a set called The Shadow's Embrace, which at the time was priced at $200, and again if you wanted a chance at making a finals anywhere, you had to buy a complete set. Eventually the prices came down, but not before the cards were all out of the current cycle, or arc.

Burning abyss did get a box like noble knights. The problem with it is that it is ocg only, and they got beatrice in that box (before we got her). This was one of the first examples of the ocg taking a tcg exclusive archetype and making it even better.

I imagine there are two of the field spells because at that time you could only have field spell active at a time between both players, whereas now both players can have an active field spell, also because it’s fully possible to destroy a spell card quite easily

My brother has one of these boxes and looking at the cards from the opponent point of view you really can’t see or read anything, all you can see is the gloss and you actually have to pick the card up to see anything on it.

This set was an attempt to imitate the ocg's special duelist sets. It's literally the same idea, a premade deck based on a certain archetype, along with new support cards, sleeves, a full size mat, and a card storage box. The ocg versions of the lightsworn and geargia structure decks were the same sort of box set.

Platinum rare looks rad. That deck box is (from a competative magic players perspective) basic sized if not a little small,and a nice tip, put yugioh art sleeves inside clear standard size dragon Shields. Dragon shields are super durable and they rarely get cloudy.

I actually like the idea behind this set. If Konami were to release a Structure Deck including three copies of each important card combined with a fitting map and sleeves and puts some actually decent boosters filled with staples for the main/extra deck into it, I would consider buying it even for a higher price tag.

I feel like what Konami was going for with the holo effect on the cards is a reflection of the nature of the noble knight cards, some change from light attribute to dark attribute when certain conditions are met and the dark-bright shine on the cards is meant to reflect this, I think it's kind of neat and poetic, if not practical.

mrfuzzybrows each extra deck monster has a different summoning condition. I can go over each one real quick. Links are the building block card, in a sense. There are 5 main monster zones and 1 extra monster zone. Your extra deck monsters go into the 1 extra monster zone so you only get 1. Links are made by sacrificing monsters equal to their link rating, which is how many arrows there are on it pointing in different directions. Any zone with an arrow pointing to it can have extra deck monsters placed there, as well as regular monsters. You use them to make multiple extra deck monsters. XYZ are one of the other monster types. To summon one, you have to have (usually) 2 monsters of the same level, and the level has to be equal to the rank of the XYZ. Rank 4 monsters are made from 2 level 4s, for example. When you make an XYZ monster, you use the monsters as ammo for the XYZ monster’s effect, putting them underneath the XYZ and taking them off when you use their effects. They tend to be a little more like shotgun cards; they use their effects when necessary and then an just stay on the field sometimes. It’s good to note that XYZ monsters can have effects that don’t require the use of their “ammo”, but that they all usually have one effect that does. Synchros are a fun extra deck monster, conceptually. To make a Synchro, you need 1 tuner monster, which is a type printed onto the card, and 1 or more non-tuner monsters. Together, their level has to equal the level of the monster you summon. So, a level 3 tuner and a level 4 non-tuner can make a level 7 Synchro monster. They tend to stay on the field for longer and have more extended effects, since they don’t run out like XYZ. Fusion is simpler to understand, but it’s the least generic extra deck monster. You (usually) use a fusion spell to combine (usually) 2 or more specific monsters. Decks that run this either are designed around summoning fusions, or summon the few fusions that are generic and splashable. Pendulums are the most complicated. They’re cards that go into the main deck as monsters, but have secondary effects because they can be played as spells as well as monsters. When they’re in the spell/trap zone, they go on the furthest left and right spaces, and they have a number attached to the card. When they’re removed from the field as spell cards, they go on top of the extra deck instead of the graveyard. Once per turn, if you have two pendulum spells played, you can special summon monsters in your hand or pendulum monsters in the extra deck whose levels are all in between the numbers of the two places pendulum monsters. This is the most dedicated deck; almost all pendulum monsters will be in dedicated pendulum summoning decks based around the mechanic. They’re very strong but are weak to anything that’s effective against spell cards; they can be destroyed by things like MST and Anti-Spell Fragrance prevents them from being played at all, so if you don’t counter them they can be strong but they have big weak points. That’s basically all the extra deck monsters. Hope that was helpful!

If you think about the foil tinting in one way, I think it compliments the style of the Noble Knights, as they're mostly light, which shows when you look at the cards with the shine on full display, but some of them become dark monsters with the equips, which happens when you look at the cards from other angles. Also, apparent bias applied, I don't think the platinum foil is terrible, just isn't anything special.

dawn knight was supposed to be used to send Lady of the Lake to the GY to settup for Synchro plays. once Needlefiber comes out she will be abused in Noble Knights to extra Link your opponent with linkuriboh, trigate, borreload and a whole lot of other bullshit that gets started off with Medraut and any Noble Arms Equip spell that reequips itself. PS you need Dawn Knight for that combo. BUSTED

Holy shit was this a complete kick in the balls to everyone (Very much so including me) who where ecstatic over the news that Noble knights where finally getting their final support to tie the deck together after spending years to buy/ trade for the other core cards (Which most where only secret rarity by the way) which in its self was a pain in the ass just to find out that you need to buy 3 of this waste of cardboard to get a search card that doesn't fit the name or any other connecting features of the archetype just finish your NON-COMPETITIVE worthy deck filled with cards that are terrible at worst and decent at best, but Konami figured "Hey its okay.....you get an ugly cardboard mat and some gaudy sleeves that feel just as bad as they look.
