The first single I ever bought, 1978 in W. H.Smiths, sounds as manacingly good now as it did when I was 15.

JJ Burnel best Punk bass player of all time bar none. Only one who remotely came close was Bruce Foxton.

Paul Simonen comes close. HOWEVER, nobody, that's nobody rocks a pair of monkey boots like Mr Brunel. So, for that reason alone, I declare Jean Jaques Brunel (if that's not a cool name , I don't know what is!) The official Steve Mcqueen of Punk Rock. 🏆

Oh dear young people. Good try and well done new Stranglers but nothing like crazy times in 70s and 80s. Have the tickets. Wore the badges and still in love with Hugh....hope he keeps 'Hanging Around'.😘

I would have been majorly against replacing Hugh Cornwell, but if they had to do it, I'm glad they did it with a Toy Doll

I grew up with The Stranglers and Hugh's contribution can't be underestimated but after 1982 he was like a fish out of water. Baz does a far better job recreating the early songs with all their venom than Hugh ever managed in his last 8 years with the band. Mind you, either of them pisses all over that bloke Roberts and the other guitarist whose name I can't remember.

This is better than no Stranglers at all......yes, their best time together was with Hugh, 1976-1986 and the remainder of the eighties was a wasteland... their final album with Hugh ('10') a disappointment, but they have had their moments in the last 25 years, quite like 'Big Thing Coming' and some of the 'Norfolk Coast' album, and Baz Warne is a warrior, of course he is no Hugh Cornwell, but you have to give him marks, he is a first rate guitarist...his playing here is on the money...I wish they could mend their ways with Hugh and go out with a bang but hey this isn't too shoddy...not like its Slade II.

You're right. Baz is a good guitarist, right on the money. Shows how good he is on recent concerts including La Folie
