The Stranglers really are of the greatest in rock music. Not only are they all excellent musicians and performers they are so precise and can play live with no backing tales or bullshit. I was fortunate enough to see them back in the early 80s and to this day it's one of the best shows I've ever seen (and heard) and I have been to many concerts over the years and seen most of the 'greats.' Original, creative, powerful, vibrant, menacing and brilliant. Dave is missed terribly. RIP

M’name is also Dave. I don’t feel a total thief taking this to heart; it’s therapeutic and it helps patch over the red card I’d give to the expression “hanging out,” which is unforgivable to me. But I’ll hang around, now I have a corrective statement I’ll utter to the kids if I can remember the moment to school them gracefully, put on a clinic and all that.
@garmit614 жыл бұрын
Great performance. Glad they sorted out the live sound. I saw them as one of the support actors to the Who at Wembley in Summer of 79. The sound was awful. All bass with no dynamic. If you listen to the Battersea Park gig on You Tube that’s exactly what it was like. Back to this performance It’s great to here Dave’s fabulous keyboard work and the guitar breaking through the bass.
@LostSpringBand4 жыл бұрын
I was at Wembley in '79 too. What a line up! Don't remember the sound quality. Was just psyched to be at my first concert, aged 16. But if it's got to be all bass, it might as well be the unique 'lead guitar' bass sound of J.J.Burnel.
