what makes this performance hilarious is the contrast between the keyboardist and the drummer

I love this performance -Dave on the keyboards just getting on with the job on hand. -JJ miming along to Hugh's vocals in the first half then trashing the stage during the solos. -Hugh also not caring one bit throughout and helps fellow bandmate JJ with the stage destruction. -And Jet Black on drums just boredly playing along until the keyboard solo when he starts air drumming.

Pure genius Mr Greenfield and thanks for your sounds.

David Greenfield's organ and JJ's base coupled with Hugh's growl and Jet Blacks rock solid drumming made for one of Britain's greatest ever bands. Are they a touch underappreciated? Would they have wanted it any other way? I'd still love to see JJ and Hugh kiss and make up.

This is an even more hilarious experience than the video that is supposed to this videos' hilarious "cousin" :-) 1:26 (and then a bit later on J.J. and Hugh starts trying to demolish the coulisse itself - just WOW!!!) And the look in Jet's eyes when he sees that Hugh is doing the Hendrix "thing", then the arm swinging thing and then the jumping thing along with J.J., and then suddenly realises that there's "free bar" tonight :-) When the "take" was finally over, the production team probably shouted something like: "What the f*** are you doing! We can't air something like THIS!". And then demanded that the Stranglers did an alternative take. And then the Stranglers gave them what they asked for; a truly alternative take, where this time the drums wasn't even spared, as it was now J.J. himself that took over the role as the drummer. But nowadays the rights owners of what came out of the session, are probably more than happy that things turned how they did. Because they probably very well know that they're sitting on a potential goldmine :-) These 2 videos must in reality be the essence of 'Punk' itself; it was fun and no one got hurt. And even the coulisse survived (ok, you could argue if the drum kit itself survived - but in the end nothing comes for free, soooo... :-)
