I was having a chat about Sephy for the past couple days and I was surprised by how prescient this vid must be, but then I realized that he's the kind of character that would have a million conversations about him every day so the odds of overlap are actually pretty high.

I've had several of these moments with Fact Fiend and Wiki Weekends, so I get you, but more with Fact Fiend and I guess it is because for some reason they talk about videogames here all the fricking time! (And I get it, videogames are very popular and drive a lot of attention, interest, interaction and engagement) The problem is play 0% of videogames and everything I know about them is either incidental or though cultural osmosis, mostly though Fact Fiend / Wiki Weekends content, now.

I like that in Final Fantasy Tactics, Cloud was an Easter Egg character that starts at level 1... while the rest of characters are all near cap by the time you get him. But once gettin ghim around level 60 he is the most insane character in the game to the point you don't really need the rest of the team at cap except to be distractions.

Sephiroth is, like Kefka before him, one of those times when the main antagonist is more remembered than the protagonists. I will add that people still think of Cloud probably more than Terra (and the respective other party members), but that's possibly because of SE's push of VII for the last nearly 30 years in various ways

If Lucas is the same height as Tifa? Karl, you should show him the cutscene where Tifa tries to fight Sephiroth in KH2. I bet he'd get a kick out of it! Also, I'm reference to 25:16, (his fall from Hero to villain) I would like to point to Omniman in MK1, and his pre fight dialog. "Power doesn't corrupt, it enables." Edit: I got a lot of unexpected therapy from Rebirth, and part of it was from Tifa talking about how Biggs always pushed himself to do more, even when, in her words, he did the most out of all of us. "They wouldn't want us to live like this." Lastly, Genesis pulled "I have the high ground!" Only for Sephiroth to turn on his own theme music and go, "Oh i dont think so." 33:16 Well, you, actually almost got it right. He actually creates his own pocket dimension and destorys a solar system that he manifests (iirc). The thing is, that move can't kill you. Most of Safer Sephiroth's moves can't kill you, and as long as you keep your health up, you can survive. People have actually done a challenge o getting to Safer Sephiroth at the lowest possible level, because you can win against him if you know his attack patern and heal before he his attack that can kill your party.

Ultamecia and Kefka are two of the only Final Fantasy bosses that actually achieve their goals before the heroes can stop them. Only because of plot do the heroes even get a chance to face off against them and reverse the end of the world.

For many years, i have thought that Sephiroth is a terrible villain. He's only got 2 or 3 real appearances in the original game, and he can sadly be boiled down to the phrase "daddy/mummy issues". I just don't get it, he's the hardest try hard.
