Could you do a video about the lighting you/node uses? I noticed the studio lamp at the door, the one attached to the ceiling which points at the couch but I would like to know how much of a difference it really makes, like for example actually show us what happens with the video quality when lamp(s) are turned off, how many you have and what made you decide to put them here and there (angles for example). It would make for a great video :) (Sam and Niko did a video where they explained what you can achieve with lighting and how important it is, but that's a bit more in-depth of the technical side)
@TigerXtrm29 жыл бұрын
I'd actually like to see the setup behind this. Because a room like that, with 13 high end PC running there, must rack up some serious heat and a serious electricity bill. Do you guys have a custom AC and do you draw like 'industrial' grade power?

@L3uX9 жыл бұрын
Why not a small mixer (didn't pick up if it was analog vs digital source separation) that can be switched via the 3 separate channels for sound referencing? Just coming from someone who does music production/artist, can imagine how 3 separate headphones would be super annoying/terrible especially having no master reference headphone sound to pick up weird inconsistencies, on top of hugee inconvenience. Any 'standard' sounding closed back Headphones (Sony MDR7506 super cheap) to simple small 4-channel analog mixer splitting into all sources would be super efficient, cheap, and provide easy work platform for future.

It seems you could eliminate the headphones with an audio splitter but without knowing your audio setup who knows. But the main reason why i'm commenting is that why would you use OBS at all when vMix can do all of it? Are you just separating mix and the live stream encode achieving you're artificial delay or are you doing it to save CPU or for some other reason? I get keeping them seprate but was just curious why use another computer and OBS when vMix could do your overlays and everything much more efficiently. awesomne setup i would love to chat some time.

Could Spencer do a in-depth on how he controls the broadcast?
@SillyDillyDallie9 жыл бұрын
+Nathaniel Foo They kind of explain it in the vid but i'll try to help here... He's got the 3 headphones like he explained for sound, then the computer and camera setups are all linked over the internet to an ipad, so essentially he can be anywhere in the office and cameraswitch when he needs to show another angle. Otherwise it's just all fancy capture programs and layers in OBS I believe

@PMass9 жыл бұрын
+Zed Chuva you don't even want to know
@midnightClub5439 жыл бұрын
+Zed Chuva Quick math, given each computer uses lets say 800 watts, electricity costing 12 cents kWh, times 13 computers gives us 10,400 watts, lets add another 5,000 watts just in case there is AC and other pcs running. This will give us about $44/day or $1,330/month. So yea a lot of money to power those PC's.
@midnightClub5439 жыл бұрын

How do you manage switching different vMix layouts and OBS layouts simultaneously? It looks like you have multiple different graphical overlays that OBS adds on top of the vMix capture, so the vMix capture has to match the OBS overlay at the same time.

OMG this is Streamers Paradise. I lost my chin when start watching this video.
@JoeLX949 жыл бұрын
Your sound setup isn't very efficient. Monitoring audio seams like a pain. You should check out Yogscast streaming setup. They use a proper Allen & Heath recording mixer to mix all the PC sound, mics and external VOIP audio with AUX channels to feed back into streamers headsets. Also through using BlackMagic videohub they have much better video signal routing and can input loads of PCs and BlackMagic cameras at a time. Cool setup though
@Kronospace9 жыл бұрын
Are you just using software encoding for the stream, or are you using a dedicated hardware encoder like a teradek cube?
@harry3life9 жыл бұрын
+backtomotionpictures I'd wager software encoding. They have a dedicated machine for mixing the stream parts together and sending it out. It should be powerfull enough to encode the entire feed in real-time.
