Hard to Explain is a rare, perfect song. The false stops just add to it. And the video for it just put this song into the stratosphere.

Even though Fab never shows off with big fills or overly complex rhythm patterns, his ability to hit the snare the same way every time, with the same tone, velocity, and timing, proves it all. Fab's one of the best drummers alive and of the last 25 years in my books
@silverlink88053 жыл бұрын
Part of that is because the drums are way compressed, but it's still impressive

I know man... I cant even imagine it. This song is so brilliant, it's hard to believe that at one point Julian was some teenager who had no idea how to even come up with a melody, instead of being one of the greatest songwriters of the 21st century who happens to have one of the keenest ears for composing catchy and passionate music. If there was one thing I could wish for, it would probably be his talent for writing amazingly melodic tunes.

Hell yea! First two albums! Then super gems like fear of sleep, ize of the world........3rd album cover and its ironic, shows a sliver as if the dream was dimming to a close, and i felt like that was there last album. but when you are in a group, and you all achieve making silver out of iron together. that has its own life span... Billy corgan talks about it poignantly on jre.... Lol! Also people talk so much shit about there wealthy upbringing, as if they were supposed to be some crust punk thrash band. “Love covers a multitude of sins” and if there sin was being rich kids, they all poured there hearts out without reserve, worked hard and gave valuable and powerful art to the world. Besides, they were glamorous, they grew up on grunge like we all did, but didn’t use it as a artistic crutch... America loves the ‘rags to riches’ story, it’s in our d.n.a. But that wasn’t there purpose as a band. They were the changing of the old guard. they brought a dark and tactile vintage dream with luxurious melodic decadence. Built from scratch.
