They are an incredibly easy band to like. Their songs are short and catchy and distinct, completely lacking in pretentiousness. Just straight forward great bangers, one after the other played by good looking guys who dress cool. If I had to come up with some bands who were great but hard to get into at first the Strokes would be about as far away from making that list as possible. What part of their sound, or image do you think turns people off at first?

I started listening to them because a girl I liked in middle school had “The Strokes” written on her backpack in sharpie, so naturally I had to research and discover this awesome band. She never was interested in me but I was hooked with this band. Introduced them to my girlfriends there on after. So many memories, good and bad, with their music. I’m about to be 24 but those memories never fade when I put on one of their records.

This songs is very especial, I heard drunk, with drugs, when i fell in love, when i hated the love, when i missed my family, when i lose mportant person in my life, when i didn't talk with her, when i felt jealous, when i thought that she likes me, the strokes are important part of my life.
