One other important comment: people might be thinking: Keenpower is useless, because if I really have a very dead battery, I cannot charge it. But let's think about this a little bit. If you are on the road, that means you actually one way or another, started your vehicle. When you go and start it again, you are not facing the situation of a completely dead battery. Thus, you can charge the KeenPower. And this is no matter if you are at a busy mall or out in the bush alone. And if you have a totally dead battery, that case will happen most likely when at home...where you can charge the KeenPower from another battery or at home via usb. Therefore, people should not write Keenpower off on this demerit. In fact, the reason it does not have a power bank is a bonus because you will not be left with discharged powerbank you forgotten to charge. This would be a real life situation where you are in the bush with a weak battery - let's say camping. Next day you try to start but battery is too weak. You grab your power bank and realized you did not charge it in past year and it is dead. In this case, KeenPower would still get you up and running. Keenpower will also work as good years from now whereas other powerpacks won't, and nothing beats super capacitors in the cold.

I really like the whole idea of the capacitor. One of the other advantages is that it can charge so quickly from another battery. Even with the super dead battery on the diesel, I think after 3 or 4 shots, it would have pumped enough power into the battery to start the truck. It only takes a couple minutes to reach a full charge, so really 10 minutes would have it going from 0.2 volts on the battery. I'm keeping the Keen because of the advantages it has... but I'm still not getting rid of the Noco, that thing is just a monster. But for over $1000, it should be.

I have a 7.3 diesel and had the batteries completely die didn’t heat the plugs and just turned the key and always have the diesel turn on with the gooloo

On a completely dead battery, could you disconnect the battery, start the vehicle, then reconnect the battery? Pretty dangerous with sparks and all so you’d have to be super careful, but I wonder if that would work.

If your 12v car battery is down to 2v then there are other issues and you would probably need to have a charger connected to AC power.

Leaving the headlights on can do it. Either way, the NOCO is a powerhouse. If I have a battery that gets that low, I will usually use an AC charger on it that has the repair function at some point.

@@reusefull Having an AC charger with a desulphate program is a great tool, I have two of them from CTEK.

Yikes! And here I was thinking that the wire they used for the clamps was kind of thin! What kind of vehicle was it?

@@reusefull it was an international 466e. Batteries weren't overly dead tho, they had enough power to run the grid heater for 30 seconds but wouldn't crank fast enough to start.

@GordonTurnerr were you charging the pack off the DT466 batteries or from a different source? I was thinking that even though it didn't start the 6.7 from a very dead battery, that if I charged the capacitor a few times from a different source and then pushed that power into the battery, it might be able to work.
