Nice video! I will say that it stores a lot less total power than a regular portable battery, so if your car doesn't start right away, I doubt you could get much cranking out before the charge ran out. I would also point out that once you hook it up and turn it on, it will start dumping charge into the dead battery. So if you dilly-dally around looking for your keys and stuff before you try to start your car, you may find that you no longer have enough charge to start the engine.
@drewsquickfix3 жыл бұрын
Yes Kevin exactly , this is only.for certain uses and won't always start your car. I think that's why it's not sold in stores and only online. It's harder to return online purchases and I think they found people found this difficult to use. Thanks for watching please subscribe!
@wingerrrrrrrrr2 жыл бұрын
This is meant for cars that are in a good state of tune and just have an issue of a weak battery. If your car requires a long period of cranking to start, it's not a good option as it doesn't have the extended power reserve of a battery unit. It's worked for me every time so far in actual use, maybe 4 times over the years I've had it. Definitely find it to be a bacon saver, and I like it over battery units mainly because I don't want to keep buying new ones every several years because batteries will degrade, faster or slower depending on how they're maintained. The storage conditions will affect batteries to some extent also, and cars tend to undergo wide temperature extremes. If you have a lithium battery unit, the best thing is to charge it only to about 70%, as the cells will last the longest in long term storage at that level of charge. Most people will just charge it full and maybe continually topping it off, which will actually result in them losing capacity at a faster rate. The super cap type is more of a stash and forget type of thing, but does have the disadvantage of needing a minimum amount if energy to be available in the battery. If the lights were left on and car parked for a month, the battery will surely be all dead. It'll only have a chance if it's just mostly dead, as Miracle Max states. Probably won't work well with diesels or cars that are unable to start with a few crank cycles. For those, stick with the battery units, and just plan on buying replacements on a regular schedule.
@Knowbody42 Жыл бұрын
The advantages of supercapacitors are: They don't degrade nearly as much as a standard battery over years, and they can charge and discharge very quickly. The disadvantages are: They don't store charge long term, so you have to charge them just before every use, and they don't have as much capacity.

I haven't found any vehicle it wouldn't start (12v) including a F550 with two stone dead batteries (from something left on that drained them). The jumper needs some juice in the battery to charge from it so connect it to a donor car with a charged battery. You weren't charging it correctly with the PT cruiser as you stated, you have to connect it and then press the power button to activate the charge cycle. The LEDs will light up to show the state of the battery it's connected to but when it charges the LEDs blink and it's fully charged when the top green one stops blinking and stays on steady. I agree, the clamps could be better but they are adequate. This may be the best review I've ever watched. It is a real-world situation with someone who is NOT an expert, using a product for the first time. He's not some paid lackey, who might know a lot more, but twists the results around for monetary gain. My own truck ('99 Blazer 4.6 L) would not start, because I haven't driven it much in the last few weeks. The battery read 11 volts. My neighbor had this exact Schumacher model, and he HAS used this thing several times. It charged to 14 volts from my battery, and the top LED was solid green, but it was NOT able to start my truck. We tried it five times, before finally giving up and jump-starting my Blazer the old-fashioned way. Incidentally, after we disconnected this "battery-less jumpstarter," my battery read 12 volts. So the thing actually charged up my battery a little bit, but was not powerful enough to start it. I will wait for the next generation. Maybe it will be more powerful and do what it says it can do.

I actually do not work for any manufacturer, I’m an electrical technologist in the renewable energy world and was fascinated with these capacitor packs. I got caught way up a mountain road while remotely fly fishing. My battery booster pack failed to start my vehicle. I was very lucky after being stuck for 3 hours when an off road Jeep came along and boosted me. I wanted to find something reliable and read about these and researched many models before I did indeed purchased this unit. I even wrote a better simple instruction cheat sheet that I laminated and carry with it in a bag. I can share with you here, and you could pass it on to anyone who wants it. You made several errors in your methods and blamed the product. That is why I wrote that your video and evaluation is very unfair. I could do a video tomorrow using the right methods and guarantee it would work flawlessly. To try it, I disconnected my good battery and used the Override Method with no car battery connected. I have the big 6.2 L V8 in my truck, so a heavy draw to start. It worked flawlessly. I have let it drain and tested it charging with a cig outlet in the car, no problem. I also tried a portable battery pack for my ipad and it took a while to charge it up, but again charged up no problem. I don’t troll anything, it’s the first time I have ever posted a comment, it just was not a fair evaluation by you in my opinion. So, I just think if you are going to do a video evaluation, it is only fair if you fully read, understand and follow the directions. I did and have no problem at all with mine. So if you are going to post on here, and someone calls you out on it, sit down and read about the product and try it out again, your experience and video will change. Jeff

8 levels of fail. It's volts, not watts. The vehicle battery has to have some (moderate) amount of charge to work with. If it's dead as a rock, there is no energy in there to charge the capacitors. It can't make magic energy from nothing. How about a voltmeter to check what voltage is actually there? How about read the instructions so you know how to use the tool. "I don't know what that means. I don't know how this works. It doesn't work! Oh, it DID work!" Super annoying.

Yes thank you I made the correction in the description as soon as I realized it a while back. It's hard to entertain and keep a steady flow on videos and it's easy to mix up words and other things when your mind is focused on presenting. I'm not a mechanic. Thanks for watching!

I don't recommend it I found it very hard to use after the video I could not use it to start my diesel Mercedes and this is supposed to be the highest capacitor you can buy

The Autowit is far better and cheaper, I had it for two years and used it for times.

This thing was a piece of junk.... I think I that why it was only available online not in stores. The concept is good but not perfected. Very difficult to use. Thaks for watching!!

@@josephi6916 I took it back to home depot. Luckily I bought it online and they have a good return policy. It's not worth the cost. I'd just buy a good jump starter battery pack

@@josephi6916 I tried it on my 1992 300 turbo diesel mercedes and it wouldnt even budge. This was the more expensive version for diesel glow plugs too. I think the product isnt as great as its said to be that's why it can only be purchased online not in stores. I got mine at homedepot.com and returned it 30 days later to a store with no hassel. Maybe I wasnt using it correctly but for $220 I expected better performance. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

@drewsquickfix2 жыл бұрын
I did read the book and I did this review as someone new experiences it. Sounds like your products are not worth reviewing if you troll people's channels..... looking for paid influincers to promote your products that can't sell in stores. Seems like you have some issues yourself turbo.... I don't get paid for reviews unlile you WHO WORKS FOR A COMPANY AND CREATES A FAKE CHANNEL only 1 year old getting TO TROLL AND comment badly on reviews that a company doesn't like about their products WOW you sold your soul!!

I believe its way too complicated for anyone who's not a mechanic or works for the company. Im glad I showed its not easy to use when someones battery is completely dead.... By the way do you work for schumacher?? Whats your interest in this video?
