Seriously implies something a little different. Do you think if he WAS to train for a competition again he'd change absolutely and we mean absolutely nothing about what he does now? Of course he would, that's wat the implication was touching on. He probably could do certain things even more to maximize gains and strength but doesn't need to, the pace he's at now is enough. It's not the same as saying he doesn't already do a lot or doesn't take lifting seriously in general.

@jjmuti3979

@@jjmuti3979 It's not really that massive since overall he's REALLY STRONG so whatever strength he has left is still huge like Brock Lesnar for example since the dude is strong like Fighters are actually scared of him even if they are winning coz Brock has enough force to break people and his foes really mean it since almost all of them acknowledged how freakishly strong broke is so imagine someone like Harry Potter here like i can't even imagine how strong he'd be but anyways if he can't grapple then yeah :D strength neutralize but it will still be challenge for sure to anyone.

afaik the reason clarence bombed at multiple competitions was because he went dumb af with his training (like squatting heavy twice a day every day something like that) and fucked up heavily his knees while also refusing rest, only using painkillers to train and competing. he also had to actually had surgery on his knees and now managed to adapt his training so they could manage the load. thus he could probably be better at competing rn than he was earlier.

But when I found Clarence, I just really liked the way HE did them, so I switched it up. Ngl, it took me a while to get the technique right. Is it fair to say Clarence is a hobbyist since all his youth he trained for the competitions and aimed to the Olympic games? And talking about not training that seriously, he did train under the coaching of Gabriel Sincraian, an olympic medalist, for a good while after he stopped competing. And now his business is making money from him lifting and coaching. But I agree, he's in way another category from other people in terms of what he's doing and his situation. The feels when you see him touch his shoulder after the snatch foreshadowing the shoulder giving up on jerk. I think it'd be fair to address PEDs because Clarence is very straight forward and transparent about that too. With no judgment, given that he started using them rather late when he had already lifted some really impressive weights, and knowing that other athletes use PEDs as well if they have any shot on Olympic medals. But Clarence is rather honest about it and staying out of the competition due to taking them so I think it's a reasonable thing to mention to not give a casual viewer misguided impression about things they might project to their own abilities. And I think the comparison to active competing lifters is also slightly skewed from them having to usually cycle out for the competition. Regardless Clarence is uniquely gifted.

Clarence is the weightlifter we wish we had compete. Although he said he's not natural I just hope someday there will be a weightlifting federation that will allow PEDs so we can potentially see more people lifting insane totals like Clarence has at his bodyweight, similar to how powerlifting does it. Weightlifting already has unnatural totals out there and because drug testing has gotten a lot stricter with there being a new IWF president there won't be totals that were as high as there was at Beijing/London Olympics. Also no Clarence would not win an Olympic medal. Even if he was top 3 he'll just be stripped of it like Ilya Ilyin because of PEDs that he admittedly uses. He'll fail a test eventually.

Yes, I do think he could've won a medal, but he probably would've ended up like Gabriel Sincraian (caught doping). Better for him to not compete and be honest than to compete and have to lie about it.

Everyone in Olympic Weightlifting at that level is doping, is just a matter of who gets caught depending on their strategy and custom illegal compounds

For anyone aspiring to be like our boi Clarence. His numbers were already elite due to his genetics and extreme work ethics. He had a 160 snatch and a 190 clean and jerk and a 240 or 250 backsquat or so while being clean. So more than likely you are not going to reach his status. But nevertheless we all try

Probably one of the more interesting things about Clarence is that he is vegan ('and still so strong').

@@nalissolus9213 any source for those extraordinary claims about animal fat and testosterone?

@@veganpowerlab It is a fact that our hormones are made from cholesterol. It's part of the chemical structure. The body can produce it's own cholesterol though, but I think it needs certain fatty acids to do it.

@@nalissolus9213 i’m vegan for 2 years, and before that was vegetarian for 6 years. My testosterone is well within normal range (tested it like a month ago). So, obviously I would have difficulty trusting your claims. The body can indeed produce its own cholesterol, but to claim that it needs animal products for that? Where did you get that? Any reliable source? A study? A meta analysis? Something…
