It was brought up where when Rick went to the Council of Ricks to ask for help, no one took him seriously because that was thought to be literally impossible, but in that one universe it actually happened and they only recognized him as a threat after he took over The Citadel.

Thata actually incorrect. Rick is from c137 and Jerry is also from a different universe bc they brought the wrong one home from the Jerry daycare they brought him to. Also Morty is from rick primes universe which is now the cronenberg universe they left in season one. Did you not watch season 6 when they all got sent back to their own universes ?

It's to make identification easier. More unique Ricks are given a thematic name to their universe, and the family just inherits it. They don't name doofus Jerry "smart jerry" because their systems just don't have anything to account for jerries, and also everyone knows that you can't be more of an idiot than jerry, so doofus jerry is immediately recognized.
