Hell, I would take Yamcha over Roshi. Roshi was nearly 100 at the start of db. at this point he's just a place holder. To that point, I have to agree with getting Frieza. Frieza trained for like six months and wrecked the saiyan blues. He only lacked on time trained in that form. it's a shame that didn't keep uub. but hell, I'd get a dragonball set and bring back cell, too. Cell saiyan/whatever-the-fuck-Frieza-is DNA gives him MASSIVE potential. He'd be the 3rd or 4th strongest on the team, behind only Vegeta, Goku, and maybe Frieza. He would be strong enough to handle quite a few people, before needing to be switched. That or, yknow, he'd be an effective powerscaling tool. Seeing someone knockout Krillin won't mean shit, but destroying Cell? I'd respect that

Tao was significantly weaker than Roshi, even back in the days of Dragonball. Ten-Shinhan wiped the floor with him and had a MUCH tougher time with Roshi. If Roshi hadn't bowed out, that match would have dragged on a LOT longer. Roshi would have handled Tao just as easily as Ten-Shinhan did. Let's also not forget that Roshi was even stronger than Master Shin, the Crane Hermit, who trained Tao. If you're going to replace Roshi with someone from the Crane school, it should be Shin who is semi-immortal just like Roshi and much stronger than Tao.

Don't remember when Mr. Popo made them both look like fools? He took on 2 SSJ kids and didn't break a sweat. He's also a Djinn, the same race as Majin Boo. He has never shown his fighting abilities besides taking a beating and toying around with the kids. I believe this is due to his passive nature. I'm sure with the Universe on the line, he would be willing to fight. I could see him being 4th strongest after boo and before gohan.

Not only that, but he has been training and it has been shown that Saiyans continue to get more bang for their buck when it comes to training. Piccolo is nowhere near Gohan.
