You did a fantastic job with the stain! Even if it hadn't turned out as good, by the time the furniture & pictures are up you wouldn't have even noticed. But I know you want it to look as perfect as possible because it is a LOT of work. Yes, the winds were absolutely awful. Hope you already have a generator or two now that you know how much the power can go out - glad it didn't happen during a snow storm.

Hi it’s a bit of a shame that you can’t put an additive in it like we have it here in Australia with white ceiling paint is when you put it on it is pink but when it dries dries white that would be wonderful if you could add it to the spray

I thought chinking was a pain in the posterior but I am convinced that this stain process is a close second. Not that it is all that difficult but trying to discern where the stain has been covered and what still needs to be covered would drive me batty. I can see why painters may have bad habits!

Raw wood is best hit with a dedicated sealer first. Then you can apply your finish more evenly.

I tried that first on some extra pieces but the stain wouldn't penetrate at all. It was just left sitting on the surface and you could just scrape it off with your fingernail. I have 20 gallons of sealer that I didnt use for that reason.

I think you chose the proper wood treatment and, yeah, it appears to be a challenging job with the sprayer. Evening light from table lamps, etc. will cast lovely shadows upon the stain. Nice work.

That's a lot of wood when it comes to staining. Every job in/on the house seems to be a maga huge job! Have you protected the cabin from termites yet? No, I'm not a bug guy, but have had termite issues. (JF)

yes we are protected from termites. I have had the same issues in the past and they can do real damage in a hurry

When you walk into that awesome house, don't you kinda fall over a little bit and say to yourself " Holy S#!+ I built this !!!!! " When the balcony rails went in I was like " Holy S#!+ somebody just put the star on the Christmas tree". Somebody needs to make you a sign that says "Holy S#!+ I Built this !!! " maybe 4 of them, one for each side of the house !
