Yep. that sounds spectacular. I wonder if we will get an updated BigSky in the near future. Great video!

I would assume so given they are trying to phase out the sharc dsp at this point.

Have a blue Sky and an eventide Space, But I'm definitely buying this also. Plan to use it with synths, guitar and piano. sounds amazing from the demos I've seen. Love the Volante also but I might like the Catalinbread echorec a litte better. You should try the Strymon Lex if you haven't already. Great video as always!!

All I can say is Wow. I just found a used Volante at a good price, wanted to add a reverb to it. I can’t afford a Big Sky, so was considering a Blue Sky as I am a big fan of Shimmer reverb. But man after listening to this I may have to rethink it and get this. Great demo sir

I own a SA Ventris, but I never go into the menus or anything, I feel like I would get way more out of a pedal like the Cloudburst. Used to own the Nemesis delay and I switched to the Volante, I dont think I will ever get rid of my Volante.
@YukiTheSynthDragon Жыл бұрын
the lack of menu diving is just so nice. The Ventris really needs the editor to be used to its full potential imo.
@masterofreality230 Жыл бұрын
@@YukiTheSynthDragon Yea, it does, I have been diving into plugins a lot more lately, and if I just kept the Ventris hooked up to my PC it might be worth keeping, but I am getting an HX Stomp soon, and if the reverbs on that can get me by, I am most likely selling it anyway.

I just received my Cloudburst and began using it on my guitar in a worship setting. It's incredible for creating an ambient atmosphere. The one thing I wished Strymon would have done is give it a trails switch. It can be very abrupt when turning it off.
@YukiTheSynthDragon Жыл бұрын
It does have trails. They call it spillover mode. Look in the manual on how to activate it.

Would you explain how you've connected the cloudburst to the Tascam Model 12 on the left of the video without the FX Send and return function?
@ConzDimension Жыл бұрын
I know Strymon pedals usually sum to mono on the way in.. Does that bother you on their pedals? I remember that being a reason I went with another brand for synth pedals in the past. Wonder if thats still the case on the new cloudburst. Another issue is the bigsky plugin being a competitive option/value. Either way great work on the video!
@YukiTheSynthDragon Жыл бұрын
cloudburst sums to mono like other reverbs from them and the volante. I just am careful about what effects I feed them to make sure no phase inversion stereo is happening and I’m usually fine with the outcome. Very few cases require me to use a true stereo pedal, though it would be nice if at all possible. The only pedal I still own that is true stereo in terms of reverb is the ua golden and I think the hall algorithm in the space. I use the ua when I need to keep a full stereo wet and dry image from something before it in the chain.

@@YukiTheSynthDragon good to know, maybe I will be more open to that option going forward then. I am extremely lucky to have a p6 and the pan spread is one of my favorite things to reach for and I use it a lot when I'm sound designing but it makes me not want to lose that going in. btw do you still have your echosystem? I am looking for a nice delay pedal
@YukiTheSynthDragon Жыл бұрын
@@ConzDimension I sold my echosystem a long while back but recently wanted one again. Unfortunately the unit I received was faulty so I'm waiting to get one again in the future maybe. I think the lvx is making that redundant though.

@@YukiTheSynthDragon lvx is lovely as well. Do you have a lot of delay pedals on hand? I would love to see a shootout or even just side by side.
@YukiTheSynthDragon Жыл бұрын
@@ConzDimension I do have quite a few. I have tried making some shoot outs but ultimately scrapped the videos as they become very hard for me to manage so many pedals at once.

So for small form factor reverb (for synths), I'm torn between this, Blue Sky V2, or Neunaber Immerse Mk2. Which do you recommend of those 3? Note that I own a Big Sky and Night Sky, but am specifically looking for a compact reverb for individual instruments / pads (Big Sky is my typical bus verb).
@YukiTheSynthDragon Жыл бұрын
The Cloudburst for sure, that or maybe a eventide blackhole.
@Jason75913 Жыл бұрын
seconding the Blackhole and Strymons, they rock, and I also recommend the GFI Specular Tempus
@rdean150 Жыл бұрын
@@Jason75913 Yeah, I've got a specular tempus and an empress reverb. I like both for certain things, but neither have the same "love it on everything" universal quality that the Big Sky gives me. But I've been trying out the Blackhole plugin and I am definitely starting to see the appeal. It's got a very nice balance and subtlety that just sounds great without being too sweet like the specular tempus can be. But I will admit that I've recorded some stuff with the tempus that came out beautifully.

No, night sky still has a much deeper modulation section with selectable waveforms as well as being able to doing much more versatile spaces that sound good. I would say they are about the same quality though if you want to do big ambient reverb.
