I am a Daniel Smith fan. It’s the main professional paint that I buy and trust. All of these colors were absolutely beautiful. With the way you swatched them there is no way a person could even begin to pick a favorite or even a brighter or duller brand. In order to be able to do that they would need to be swatched with consistent paint to water ratios. Sometimes your swatches were less paint than others and in the mixed ones they were each different than one another. I think it would be very difficult to swatch them all consistently enough to have a fair comparison. On the first pink swatch sheet, look at the Holbein and the Daniel Smith lightest two colors. They are very similar in color. I’ll bet you could adjust the Daniel Smith darkest color and make it look about the same as holbeins. ?? What do you think? There are things I love about each brand. I really think it depends upon what I am painting too. Oh beautiful Opera Rose ~ if only you were a lightfastness color! 😂

Love my Holbein Opera. Rarely use it on its own. It mixes beautifully with a lot of colors to brighten and add warmth.
