I know you said the best but most hunting channels say the sirui va 5 fluid head is the best. Just wondering if you’ve used it and if so how does it stack up. I haven’t used either but I’m looking at getting one

The va-5 is awesome! It's going to be hard to beat for smoothness and stability.

Like he said most guys have been using photography items for hunting. Tricer and Wiser are coming to market with purpose built hunting heads. Is the VA5 a good head? Yes, but it weighs 17oz. This head is 4.5oz and is amazing. Personally I'd go with the wiser but it's also considerably more money at $299 but it's made in the USA not in China by a USA owner.

I've tested the VA 5, Tricer, and Wiser, and consistently opted for the Wiser every time I go out. Its combination of weight and functionality sets it apart as the superior choice. However, if you're working within a budget, the Tricer still offers remarkable performance. If budget permits, investing in the Wiser would be my choice.

The reverse threads on the Tricer is deal breaker. It really makes you feel like your left handed.

​@lanetaglio I have. Shot a couple deer off of it. As of now, I am looking for a different tripod to shoot off. There is way to much play in the center column to really get a solid shot. I'll keep them for glassing but shoot, there is better.
