The Stylistics were not a Motown act. They are a Philladelphia group and recorded the majority of their hits at the famous Sigma Sound Studios.

No worries! Interesting to note that only the lead singer- Russell Thomkins Jnr sang on the recordings- the rest of the group only performed on TV and on tour. Backgrounds were sung by Philly producers- Gamble, Huff Bunny Sigler and Phil Hurt. The same arrangement was made for Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes with only Teddy Pendergrass singing on the recordings! This interchangeable arrangement was used a lot at Philly International! Many Supremes records from 1966 onwards only feature Diana Ross with various other Motown backing singers including the Andantes performing on the records. For years no one was any the wiser!
