I’m INFP, and I totally have stream of consciousness speech patterns. If I have to give a speech (like at a wedding, or eulogy at a funeral), I never write it down, instead I have what are like islands of topics I know that I want to hit and before I go up to do the speech I think through what order I want to hit them in and maybe have some key phrases, analogies, or examples/memories in mind that I want to use, so instead of memorizing a written speech or holding one in my hand, I just have to remember the 7 or 8 “islands” of topics and then freestyle it. Surprisingly it usually works out, and I sound really natural/authentic and don’t have a rigid affect on my voice. I was also a corporate trainer for 5 years at a cable/internet provider, and I never taught the same subject in the same way or the same order twice, I’d have a checklist of what I knew the trainees needed to know and I would freestyle; I preferred this method because the composition of people in the class varied from class to class, and I needed the freedom to pivot if I felt that a certain topic needed more focus and if I needed to adjust my method to match people’s various learning styles, and I kept things open for questions so I would need to improvise to answer a variety of questions and come up with analogies on the spot to tailor things when one person was struggling with a certain concept. I really enjoy teaching, but I don’t know if I could ever be a public school teacher, I was friends with someone who was getting their teaching degree and I remember when they were learning how to craft lesson plans, and that just feels so stifling to me for things to have to be so structured.

vultology has been very accurate in my opinion, but Fi vs Fe smile has been inaccurate. I’ve noticed that most people have an Fe smile.

Thats only when people make themselves smile. For example on pictures, most people smile like Fe. You have to watch them do a genuine smile when they're talking about something they like or something happens that triggers an involuntary smile. What I do is watch a try not to laugh video with them. When they try to keep in their laugh their natural smile shows

The phrenology comparison seems more relevant or justified when applied at the underlying intent of visual typing, rather than its methodology or scientific legitimacy. It's still about categorizing people, without dealing with the messiness of getting to know them.

Yep. There are correlations between body types and dimensions and say intelligence whether people find this to be distasteful or not. I certainly don't mind the science - it's how things are. People are simply afraid - either that they won't measure up or they get some n-a-z-i associations or something. That fear is the real issue.

@@oscarl.3563 I have never seen scientific evidence for the correlation between body type and general intelligence, but I also never looked hard for it. I know it's a widespread belief, and can be found in many cultures, for example in the ayurvedic tradition. And you are right, many hide this belief, to themselves or others, for fear of judgment, inadequacy, or the sense of general inevitability attached to genetics. I chose not to subscribe to the belief, regardless of the eventual science. First of all, the naturalistic fallacy. Also, I have experienced that assumptions on others' intelligence or moral character do influence my behavior in a self-fulfilling way, and that is something I chose to avoid. I do not judge anyone who doesn't, however

@@marcodallolio9746 Well it should be fairly obvious that intelligence depends on having a body(and a brain.) From there on it gets more complicated to narrow down what matters but there has been research with general findings. I'm no expert who can bring up scientific papers on the fly but the ectomorphic body has more neurons/pound so to speak. Brain-size matters too, and once again ectomorphs have big heads for their frame. There are many exceptions but generally speaking tall and narrow people seem to be more intelligent. I guess you would call this a vata-type of you're familiar with aryuveda. Men also have a higher g-iq than women(and bigger brains too,) something that is politically incorrect enough to be swept under the rug. I believe that subconsciously we know this already. It's just a matter of whether we acknowledge it or not. Just reading Harry Potter the author made the intelligent characters tall men with long fingers, while dumb characters like Dolores Umbridge where depicted as fat and toad-like with small hands. J.K.Rowling would never admit to it but that's how she thinks. It's like how we all read body-language. The archetypical wizard no matter the series is tall and narrow with a beard.

I have a question. Isn't INFP a j type according to functions because Fi is a judging function so they are dominant judgers actually?
@guckax7730
@guckax7730 2 жыл бұрын
They are, but in socionics: INFj. Mbti describes a type as a "J" or a "P" based on its first extroverted function, as opposed to just a first function, so for INFP's it's Ne, that's why they're a "P".

Just explain to them that you have Intense Facial Fixation Disorder, so if they catch you staring at their face, don't take it personally. It's just a weird thing you do 👍
