I own a Chinchilla (used to own two) please be aware they are A LOT of work! :') thought i'd let you know, before anyone sees one and is like 'oo that's cute, I want one!' Also look for them at your local shelters or rescues, since loads of people get them, think they're cute, realise they're a lot of work, and they live for ages, so they just give them up. Trust me, I have 6 lizards, and they are much easier to care for, combined, compared to my Chinchilla lol.

True! I'm a lover or all fluffy soft tiny animals, rodent and rabbits. I really want a chinchilla but I'm waiting for when I'm older. They need a lot of space to hop around, a giant cage, daily care... For now I just have fluffy hamsters because you can leave them alone for the weekend. They hamster ;)

+Helo you're probably not looking after them right then. They should be extremely active, have special lighting and a massive enclosure as a MINIMUM! if yours just sits still all day (like most others do in captivity) then I'm afraid you need to adjust some things.

My family and I have had a chinchilla since I was 11 I think. Im 17 now and he is the cutest. We saved him from a school he was at with his mom. Unfortunately we weren't able to save the mom because she passed but my chinchilla is doing great and loves running just like he said haha. You can't keep him still!

I have a chinchilla and I love her. Amazing animal, they have up to 300 hairs per follicle which is why they are so soft but because of that they can't be bathed in water. they take baths in volcanic dust.
