I remember watching this at the time, and being fairly entertained... until near the end. I don't recall the exact plot, but didn't they kind of... cause the whole problem, by allowing the Witch to be out in the open? lol So you have the director lady being all "high and mighty" against the Squad, but she actually created the whole "bad guy" (or girl) in the first place? Maybe I'm mis-remembering it, though?

Just need to say, this is the 2016 Extended Cut of Suicide Squad, not the 2021 reboot sequel. Also make sure you watch Zack Snyder's Justice League not the 2017 theatrical cut. The way to know is the correct version is 4 hours long. While BVS had 30 minutes cut out it was still to some degree Snyder's vision. This film however was completely reedited without the director's involvement because the studio wanted it to be like Guardians of the Galaxy (thus the good pop soundtrack versus a score soundtrack). So the tone is different from what it was supposed to be, which was more in line with BVS and you can see it in the first trailer for the film. Joker in this film isn't the way he was meant to be shown. Again the tone change and removal of scenes took out his role quite a bit. But the Joker was created as a 1930's era gangster. Here, he's a 2010 era gangster, so it's true to the character's history. You can also read Frank Miller's All Star Batman and Robin and there he's a lot like this. It is about preference, each live action Joker has been true to the character in the comics, except Joaquin Phoenix (Joker film) but even that was good and works as another Elseworlds story. The original idea is that Enchantress was in league with Steppenwolf (the villain in Justice League) and this whole thing was setting that up, but it was changed early on due to WB interference. I do hope one day we get David Ayer's Suicide Squad as he has said it's finished, nothing new needs to be done, so it's all about WB being willing to admit their mistake as they did with Justice League.

Idk why everyone gives this Joker (Jared Leto) grief. I think he fits perfectly for this movie and the situation with Harley. I couldn’t see Heath Ledger doing this Joker. This one is the upgraded version for the newer times. Grill all iced out. Tattoos. Joker evolves like the movies do. Just need to be open minded. In DC there are difference versions of The Joker. Some Jokers are more clownish, some are more gangster, some are more crazy. Some Jokers can fight with Batman, some cannot. Each joker in the movies is a different version of him. Ledger described the Joker as a "psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy". He embodies themes of chaos, anarchy and obsession, expressing a desire to upset Gotham's social order through crime and his conflict with Batman. This Joker "Jared Leto" was a sadistic gangster. The 1989 Batman where Jack Nicholson played the joker was a more cartoonish version of the joker. Then you have the new Juaquin Phoenix Joker is someone who was created by society. Who inadvertently became the joker. Joker is my favorite DC character, he can be displayed in so many different ways! This Joker killed Robin!

First off, like so many others have said, you need to change your headers, as this is the 2016 version, not the 2021 one. That said, this movie isn't anywhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. The Joker is terrible, but the rest of it is... yeah, decent. Not great, but fairly good. I agree with your 6/10 rating. Now, the 2021 version, that one *rocks*. It is LOADS of fun, and you should definitely watch it. I think you'll really enjoy it. Also, its sequel series, Peacemaker, is crazy fun. I highly recommend it. Also, if you like the idea of the Suicide Squad and want to see more of them, the animated movies that DC put out, Assault on Arkham and Hell to Pay, are quite good. And don't let the animated part put you off... they aren't kids movies. Assault on Arkham is PG-13, and Hell to Pay is an R. Also amazing from their animation department is the 2-part adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns, but that's not connected to the Suicide Squad.
