Counterpoint to Meddler being bad if you keep him late: I took a level down curse once and got to take Meddler all the way to fight 14, he was one shotting gnolls, graves, finishing off intangible ghosts and slate. He was a living god.

It's less that hes bad later and far more that it's just unnecessarily risky, imagine making 2 bones and dud rolling your damage dealers so the ghost can't be put into slay territory or only one ghost can be... rough second turn incoming

all cool but if your meddler makes a bunch of bones into something like wendigo or rotten you can get smoked, same for fighting slime queen or witches

A small thing in the basalt fight. You had pristine on Disciple's double use heal side and she was missing two hp. Two turns in a row, you rolled the double use pristine side, and healed another person twice rather than heal Disciple once, get the pristine, then heal the other person.

Mushroom is 100% hourglass on turn 1 and usually 85% ish of an hourglass on turn 2, for all non cantrip/double use characters. Hourglass, being one of the best tier 6 items, and mushroom, being only 1 tier more, is arguably almost as good as hourglass on average. And crystallize makes it very good.

problem with mushroom is that the mental prejudice towards decay i think "if im going to hit this 1 specific side 3 times in a row, ill be sad" also i think with hourglass, its just pure upside since most characters u wanna roll for 1-3 specific sides, the decay gets worse with it, example we could do with spellblade is that +1 on a dmg managain is much more valuable than a +1 on a mana side, u always want hourglass on her but never mushroom if u get what i mean

@@richardkurniawan6066 2 mana and 1 damage mana gain are pretty much the same value. So as soon as the damage mana gains go down to 1, you are happy taking the normal mana. Not to mention 2 damage poison is way way better than 1 damage poison. Mushroom is upside 99% of the time, especially on consistent characters like spellblade.

idk if i'd say hourglass is one of the best tier 6 items, it's fine. the problem with mushroom is if you get stuck in a long fight vs inevitable or hexia you cannot play it, it's not "what if i roll this side 3 times in a row" it's "what if my final boss invalidates my T7 item"

I've had the demon problem myself in an extended run, my 1 physical attacker died while there was 1 demon remaining, I eventually won using a single 3 vitality heal to bring my hp to several hundreds so the demon would run away... that was very painful
