I would absolutely love him back on the Yankees for a veteran bench bat. His mustache was the best in the league.

As a Cardinals fan, it was an absolute joy to see Carp having that resurgence with the Yankees. Even when he came back to Busch in their colors and caused us a bit of trouble in our 3 game sweep of them. Just was absolutely tragic when he broke his foot... 😩

When he went out injured after fouling one off his foot... man that was tough. On Matt most of all, because it's his career, but also for Yankees fans. We were treated to some of the most exciting, clutch, power hitting I'd seen in years. Those 47 games will always be memorable. We even managed to play the Cardinals during that stretch and it was lovely to see the warm reception from Cards fans, as they clearly remembered him fondly too.

Kyle Schwarber's June hot streak with 15 Homers in 17 Games when he was on the Washington Nationals in 2021. My god it brought me memories back as a cubs fan to the 2016 World Series run and it still feels like he has them from time to time.

I loved watching early Matt Carpenter bat. He would work the count, draw walks and shorten his swing with 2 strikes. I remember when he started hitting for power and I was against it because he totally changed his approach. But he was having success at first and that's what the people want. Homeruns. Early Matt was a phenomenal lead-off hitter.
@MasterSequence
@MasterSequence 7 ай бұрын
That's what I'll always remember about him. His first few years as a leadoff hitter made me instantly fall in love with him. I don't know if it was a coach or someone that convinced him to hit for power but to me it will always be the greatest shame. It's an actual tragedy that marp didn't become the true all-star he was destined for originally.

Meh. Like he played out of his god damn mind, don’t get me wrong, but Carpenter was a REALLY good ball player for a lot of years. He didn’t come out of nowhere, be a superstar for a month, then be mediocre the rest of his career. He was really really good. Sucked for a couple years. Went beast mode and got hurt.
