Before I got into astrology I spent years reading philosophy and psychology books trying to explain why I felt so severely divided. since I was young I have felt like I've reached some perfect devine understanding that most others haven't or that I'm totally lost and crazy and don't understand anything. lol astrology changed my life a year ago, and I've been devouring your free content since. I find this very well-put, especially your comment about Virgo being a sign marked by an awareness that "there is not a single hair in the universe that moves without divine intervention." That resonates. On a more mundane level, I can see that awareness manifest as a tendency to regard every detail as though it is a complete, wholesome unit; to treat every day as a complete measure of a life. It has its challenges, but yes, there is something beautifully divine about it, too. Thank you 💙

I have a Virgo stellium with exalted Mercury and I am not at all organized or meticulous and don’t identify at all with the usual tropes on this sign. I love spontaneity, mobility and play. A harvest is a reckoning. I can relate to the measuring, perfectionism and self criticism. The purity too. I’m a vegan and this relates to the idea of doing no harm, of embodying, very literally, my values. I can really relate to the falling from purity. It was even an objective when I was young and now I’m returning to a different kind of innocence. Thank you so much for this nuanced view.

I feel Virgo is often so misunderstood. Thank you for breaking this down in such a meaningful way. I wonder your take on all the asteroids associated with Virgo. Ceres, Juno, Pallas Athena, Vesta. Do you consider them to be co-rulers of Virgo? And if so, do you look to them in charts along with Mercury?

I like those two windows too. Wondering the view out there. My ex has Sun & Mercury in Gemini and Virgo rising square those two. He is super smart and quick. He had serious OCD and had to take medicine daily. I think he has the problem focusing on one tree and losing the view of the whole forest. Well, maybe because I am Jupiter dominating.

I so appreciate your teachings on light and dark. This particular talk reminded me of Martin Luther's statement: Faith that does not entertain doubt is not faith; it is the assertion of belief. Trust in the process enables vulnerability and prepares us for new growth. Soil that goes through the winter season and the dark, lies fallow, is readied for the next harvest. Also, as a Sun/Mercury in Virgo, I resonate with your explication of this sign. I like to think of this sign as 'sifting the wheat from the chaff', being concerned with serving whatever purpose it assumes on behalf of the "One". I appreciate the position that Virgo has in the zodiac; it suggests a need to enable the light of the Divine Child (Leo) while keeping in mind the need to tend the bonds of relationship (Libra), strengthening them but not permitting them to become bondage. I like to ask myself "how is this FOR US"?

I kind of liked the other set up where the window is behind you where you could see the plants and the door, it just seemed more balanced, also in the past your camera wasn’t so high up, so it looks like it’s looking down on you now, where it was more eye level or even sometimes lower before and I think that looks better and just like less awkward. Would be interested to get some content from you about transiting Neptune - which is in opposition for all Virgo activity right now. My Moon sign is Virgo and I really notice the mistiness of Neptune creeping in when I'm trying to get organised and manage basic every day stuff. More significant for the collective is the fact that Neptune is hovering around a sextile transit with Jupiter - ruler for Pisces - and therefore is engaging with the big line up in Capricorn. Quite a 'soft' aspect, but nonetheless an effective 'nod and a wink', whereby Neptune could de-stabilise the Capricorn desire for rules and a structured, paragmatic approach. I hear a lot from astrologers about the present activities of Pluto, and Uranus as well, vis a vis Covid, but I don't recall anyone saying much about Neptune in all of this. Surely Neptune would be related to diseases spread by water drops in the air...and I've always associated Neptune with the immune system. Also, the general confusion and mis-information, the lack of useful data leading to vagueness concerning the best options for dealing with daily life under these circumstances. Howard Sasportas described Uranus, Neptune and Pluto as the 'gods of change': each one having its own style of disruption whereby, as transpersonal archetypes, they will provoke transformation - resistance is useless.

I know. It's an ongoing paradoxical struggle to understand astrology as "Universal" when so much of its symbology is rooted in Northern Hemisphere seasons. I think there are ways to see the symbols seperate from the seasons, but it definitely takes more work. And astrology still "works" on all parts of the globe, but yeah, it's frustrating when the Northern Hemisphere bias isn't even acknowledged :-/ ...

I feel like the camera angle is a little high. I like the off to the side angle better, feels more relaxed. But however you feel best is all that matters. Also, I'm not sure if you've addressed this in another video before, but what are your thoughts on reconciling the obvious bias in astrology of the symbology of the signs being so tied to the northern hemisphere? Maybe I'm being shortsighted, but it's a nagging paradoxical puzzle that comes up a lot living in Australia, and learning astrology whilst trying to reconcile the lived reality with the taught wisdom. Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts...Cheers

No, I mean shame. Shame isn't a word that means feeling bad about who you are. It means, literally, "a feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior." It's not a bad word...but the defensiveness we feel when its used is intereseting...it gets right to the heart of the idea that we think we are either sinners or saints...shame is a very average, daily experience for anyone with a conscience.

Jennifer Wilson, you’re not mistaken; there’s a life-changing book called Transforming Anxiety Transcending Shame by Rex Briggs, MSW, in which shame is defined as you state. As this dynamic is explored further, this kind of shame has been relabeled “toxic shame” and the original definition of shame as Acyuta-bhava stated still stands.
