Thanks guys for reminding me of how the report writing evolved from when I started in 1979 and the computerized system that was in place when I retired. I had almost forgotten those "cards". They were about the size of a half sheet of copy paper and sometimes you would try to do the "short" reports on those cards so you didn't have to fill out and file the supplemental reports. As time went on and the systems evolved the reports got longer. When talking about being locked out, I always carried a 2nd set of keys to my squad. Not only did I not have to worry about a lockout, I could lock a car while I was near but not in the squad and leave it running.

I helped deliver officer west's tractor the other day. I wanted to ask for his autograph but was starstruck. He seemed like a chill dude though.
