i'm back with another rain code character video!! this time i'm looking into the master of disguise, desuhiko thunderbolt! he's most present in chapter 2 of the game and he has the forte of disguise. let's see what's going on with this funky lil fella!!

Desuhiko's ironic in that he craves the spotlight, but he's at his most interesting and likeable when he's in a supporting role. His relationship with Yuma is really fun though, and it's neat to have a detective major character in a murder mystery story who doesn't typically work homicide cases.

i agree! a lot of detective fiction focuses so heavily on murders, and it's kind of funny that desuhiko can't even handle looking at a dead body lol

Hi, I came from the Makoto video, and I feel SEEN. Like I thought I was the only person on earth who liked the shorty detective< / 3 He's so silly, I loved his design so much and fell in love upon seeing his VA. Also, is it just me, or does the Forté kind of remind me of Camilo Madrigal? (I'm getting flashbacks of all the angst made for him, don't tell me I'm getting attached to another character that'll make me cry. Again.) Overall, ty for making this. I'm totally watching the Fubuki one later

thank you, i really appreciate it!! desuhiko is for sure the one character i had to REALLY try to like, but as i said in the video, i'm so so glad i put in that effort. i've never heard any other work from his voice actor before, but he did a fantastic job with desuhiko!

Oh I agree with all your points! I didnt like Desuhiko originally as I'm not a fan of the pervert archetype, but this little guy just won me over with his dorky charisma! That and he does actually care about the rest of the cast and wants to protect them! Plus, while he does flirt with woman a lot and make them uncomfortable, he is self aware enough to know where the line is so he doesn't actually break the law. Not excusing his behaviour, but as you saiid, he is a fictional character. Plus his relationship with Fubuki is so sweet and shows he can treat woman with respect as they almost have a sibling like relationship. I love that everything about him links back to his self esteem issues which he tries to not a big deal out of but still controls a lot of why he acts the way he does, and by extension his disguise as that also stems from those issues. Also I snorted so hard when you flashed the bi flag up. Considering what he says in that one gumshoe gab, very appropriate 🤣 But yeah, great analysis video! Thanks for summing up while i like this cringe fail shorty 🤣

Thank you for making this video I can really understand why people hate him but I just couldn't when I heard that Khoi Dao was his English voice actor and when I realised that he reminded me of 2 characters that I really like (because of the "being a star" thing) Normally I dislike the perverted characters but for some reason that isn't the case at all for Desuhiko. Even though his dialogue is sometimes kind of uncomfortable sometimes it still makes me laugh I even wrote an entire theory about why desuhiko is the way he is in the game so seeing that someone else thought about Desuhiko as a character makes me really glad because even though I understand why he is hated it's really sad in my opinion that he is probably one of the most unpopular characters (at least in the main cast)

wow, thank you so much!! and i totally agree. i usually don't like perverted characters, but i think most of the time that's because that's like. all they are. they're the pervert, and that's it. but desuhiko has so much more depth to him beyond that, and i think that's what made the difference for me. i'm glad you enjoyed!!

i love and hate desuhiko he’s such a little gremlin, he’s surprisingly my favourite character to talk about even though he isn’t even one of my favourite characters. there’s just so much to notice about him that people overlook

agreed!! there's so much more to him than meets the eye, and while i can't blame people for disliking him (especially in chapter 2, where he's REALLY annoying lol) i do wish people would make a bit of an effort to see what else he's got going on
