My very talented choir broke up because of covid. I'm now cantor full time. Even though I know most of the songs I do at Mass, it's wonderful having another person to sing with, even if it is not SATB. Thanks, Chris!

Yep, I lost about 2/3 of my choir during Covid. Some folks decided it was just a good time to step away from church altogether. Some got used to sitting in the pews with their family and now don’t want to come back up. So where I used to have 15 -18 singers and musicians between my two Sunday masses, now I have 5-7. Um glad I can help you though

Chris - as a cantor with no in-church resource to practice with, you have become my go-to for so many new (or just forgotten) songs. Not to mention the psalm responses. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with all of us. I love learning new music with you - and re-learning some of the classics.

I have a rote memory of remembering the titles of hymns that I heard in church, but I’d seldom forget how they go. That’s why I come to these videos to remember how they go and to hear the good messages within them.

Thanks so much. If there's ever a song I can do for you to help you practice along, let me know. I've got a couple hundred songs up already.....most of the time I do them in the original key but once in a while I lower them so it's more comfortable for my voice. Blessings!

Just as many others have said, I find your versions of hymns are perfect to send to choir members, for pre choir practice. We have also 'discovered' some hymns from your channel and sing them now ourselves. Blessings from Newcastle, Australia.

So wonderful to hear from you all the way from Australia! I love hearing from people all over the world. Send me a note on Facebook or e-mail at csbrunelle@msn.com because one of these days I'm going to plan a trip that way (I was in Aus/NZ for a month back in the early 90's). If there's ever a song I can record for you guys, please let me know. God bless!!

Chris! Thanks for this. Your videos help me learn songs assigned by my choir director. I play piano and usually lead one hymn per Mass. My range is similar to yours (vocal quality not so much😂) In this song I replaced the ascending progression (to the F in the verse) with a Cmi- C7). See if you like it for variety. It might work better on piano than guitar. I’ll see you in Lynnfield! Looking forward to meeting you if possible!

Hi Chris! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us! I sometimes contemplate about posting a catholic hymn on KZbin myself but I don’t know the copy right rules. Does the composer get money if you get money from your video? Hope you and your family are having a blessed week.
@ChrisBrunelle7 ай бұрын
I’ve been asked many times about copyright issues, and I’d just say that a publisher like Oregon Catholic Press isn’t going to give anyone any grief about videos they put up UNLESS they aren’t giving proper credit, or someone is trying to pass off an OCP work as their own. Best thing to do is include in the description of your video, the copyright information as it appears on the sheet music. You might get a notification that you’re revenue sharing with the composer/publisher, but that’s not a “strike” or a demand to take the video down. In all the years I’ve been doing this I’ve never gotten a strike or been asked to take anything down.
