I thought the GoPro just fell right before you shot at first because the sound of the gunshot comes after you're out of the frame. Then I realized it was the sound taking longer to get to the camera but I didn't think it would be such a delay at that close distance. Very educational Scott, KZbin can't deny this is actual real science lol

Oh man, that armored car brings back memories! I learned to shoot a shotgun when my father gave me his break barrel 12guage when I was 11 in 1981. I also had a 22LR with a 8 rnd clip and I used to borrow my great uncle's 9mm Luger that he took off a nazi he deleted in France. There was an abandoned VW Bug on my great uncle's property & I spent my allowance on bullets/shells to use on that bug. I used to take my bicycle & 22 to my local "home hardware", lean my bike & rifle against the wall outside (they didn't like people taking their rifles in the store), and go in to buy 22's, a pack of 12g and 9mm. I delivered papers every morning at 6am, then washed dishes at a local breakfast restaurant to make money & basically ruin my every weekend, lol. I was 12, and this was Nova Scotia. Shows you how much things have changed, anyway. The rifle & the bicycle were there when I came out, though. The laws changed shortly after, but city police left us mostly alone, I only had to put my 22 in a soft carry bag, 'til I got a bit bored with shooting appliances at the local dump & started focusing on the way my friend's sister's hips moved when she walked...I haven't owned anything more than a pellet gun since, until this year. My friend's sister's hips are the size of a camper van and her kids have more DUI's than books. Back into shooting again, got my license to buy gear & I'm shopping online for the lever action I never had.

I'm surprised so many people are surprised by this, sound travels an average around $650 to 700 miles an hour depending on atmospheric conditions, whereas a bullet travels around 1500 mph, faster than the speed of sound. Another thing a lot of people don't know is that when a bullet Zips by your head going super sonic it doesn't make a zipping sound, it makes a loud pop as all you hear is the Shockwave it has created. Another fact is if you were to get shot in the head, you wouldn't hear or feel a thing as your brain would be destroyed before it could process any information. Your neural signals travel around 250 mph at their fastest whereas that bullet going well over a thousand miles an hour rips through your skull. You wouldn't process anything, it would just be you being aware and then black. Or whatever comes after death.

Most of the “smoke” is actually due to the Vaseline used as an ablative in your suppressor. I know this because I own an SGX-12. It’s pretty crazy how big of a different the Vaseline makes. I actually started adding it to all handgun and .22lr cans. Quiets things down considerably and makes cleaning far easier.
@arm_usa3 ай бұрын
Just curious how you like it? Is it decent with the Vaseline or is it really not. Big difference? If you burned it all off and keep shooting the Jk would you keep shooting or add vasaline asap?
@rpnvg3 ай бұрын
@@arm_usa Sure! I’ll give you a very neutral/bias free mini-review. I’m still very happy with the can. Especially when compared to the SEG-12 or Salvo-12. Primarily for weight savings. The SiCo Salvo-12 is indeed quieter but it gets extremely tiresome due to the weight. The massive weigh savings while protecting my own/bird dogs ears were big factors for my use. The Salvo-12 felt like I was swinging a mailbox around on the end of my shotgun, lol. Insanely quiet, though. I’ve tried the SEG once and found it performed the same as the SGX, except it definitely caught more bits of plastic/birdshot in the baffles. The SGX’s trumpet baffles do a great job at preventing the wads from shredding up. Anyways, as for the SGX-12’s performance - yes, the Vaseline makes a big difference. Particularly with birdshot. I can’t tell so much if I’m using pump action but if I’m using a Benelli M4 and I begin to burn off the Vaseline (about 50-60 shells), I start to notice more loud port pop on my right ear. With Vaseline, in full length configuration, I can comfortably shoot it without earpro. If it gets completely dry, it sounds slightly quieter than a suppressed AR, IMO. It’s loud but not absolutely obtuse like a normal shotgun. I have also experimented with subsonic birdshot rounds. You simply take a small drill bit, drill out the powder section of the drill, weigh out the grains you removed and plug it with a tiny tab of hot glue. With subsonic birdshot, you can some *insanely* quiet No Country for Old Men shotgun fun. I’ve only had one major failure with mine and it was entirely user error. I was testing various ablatives and amounts. At one point, I CRAMMED the thing full of wire pulling gel. It managed to cause a baffle strike. Oops. JK very happily (and entirely free) warrantied the can with 2 day shipping to and from them. They also upgraded my blast baffle to a thicker one and made some other upgrades to the can that are seen on current models. I was actually really impressed. I won’t buy another JK can because I think there’s definitely better rifle, pistol and .22lr cans on the market. But I’m still happy with the SGX-12. It’s a very niche can but it ticks the boxes I needed from it. If possible, try to get it on sale. I ended up getting mine for $700 + $200 stamp when Modern Warriors was running their $20% off “OnlyCans” sale. TL;DR It needs Vaseline every 50-60 rounds. But it keeps the can clean and sounding great. It’s wonderful with Vaseline but is a little louder when dry. I definitely don’t scare birds off nearly as much with it. Weight is fantastic and it’s fun playing around with different birdshot loads and shotgun hosts. I recommend it, particularly if you can get it on sale for around $700-800.

@@68fmj51 I wouldn’t say it’s an absolute *must* but it definitely makes a huge difference. You should try it! I now add some in on all of my 9mm modular suppressors. I used to dislike my Dead Air Odessa until I began adding Vaseline as an ablative. It also made a significant difference.

Once again great video Scott😆👍 That huge suppressor must make it front heavy but ya get less muzzle flip. Years back my niave self got handed a light weight H&R 10g. 3.5" 2 oz.slug, No butt pad. My neck and bruised shoulder were killing me for 2 days! You got to be in good shape to handle that recoil! YOU ARE THE KING OF RECOIL!

This was a great video, Thanks! I liked the go-pro views! The only thing missing was using a decibel meter to show how well that suppressor worked! Keep up the good work!
