My wife and I were there in June 2023. She is Filipina and i am South African, I grew up surfing in Cape Town. I have to say that Siargao is one of my most favorite places in the world! skating here seems more about a true way of life and probably the purest form in some ways. Shame that there has to be monetization because everyone needs money to have a decent standard of living or what most would consider to be that and they deserve that fully whatever that means to them. That being said these dudes seem like the happiest the purest and realest skaters can be. In some ways when he is explaining what surf skating is to him this explains it all. It's not about being the best to him its about doing something he loves for the sake of it.
