The Toronto instrumental surf combo mash up an unlikely combination of the Britney Spears song and an orchestral classic during the The Hukilau 2022 pool party at the Beachcomber Resort & Club in Pompano Beach, Fla.
The Surfrajettes are Shermy Freeman and Nicole Damoff (guitar), Samantha Maloney (drums). Jeremy DeHart of The Manakooras sat in for Sarah Butler (bass).

This band is excellent. I think the drummers name is Sam, she's has got that drive forward drumming style reminded me of Phil Rudd from AC/DC. I hope they play close by soon would love to see them live.

You're not wrong about "In the Hall of the Mountain King", but you want to have a listen to The Lancasters and "Satan's Holiday", which I guess you would say they're "properly" covering. The added bonus is that "Satan's Holiday" features Mick Underwood on drums and Ritchie Blackmore on guitar. Just be careful about whistling the tune around kids.

Jeremy may have been a little tired, but he didn't show it. He just played two full sets with The Manakooras on Friday night and Saturday afternoon in the Florida heat. Then he learned all the Surfrajettes songs in two hours. Great job.

That's Jeremy DeHart of The Manakooras, who sat in for Sarah Butler during the Saturday set at The Hukilau due to illness. She played the Friday set the day before.
