It's my mindset that is the worst for me. I'm constantly in a cycle of wanting to go back to my past, the regrets I have, not knowing what is there for the future. I think I'm done with life at 53 years but still have to keep going.

Hi, I think most of us would love to go back to the past, we all have regrets and think, if only I had done things differently, however no one can change their past. I try and put unpleasant things to the back of my mind and enjoy today, the moment. The ups and downs of life is a passage of time, I know that if I am feeling a bit down, it will pass and there will be unexpected happy times ahead for us to enjoy. 💙

@@TheBlueOwl21 it's hard as I don't love my husband, spent most of the time being there for the kids. Also have been in touch with my ex and I know he isn't happy. For context it was me that was the bad girlfriend and he was amazing.

@@annyaboyd3141 I was in the exact same position as you several years ago, it took me a awful long time to pluck up the courage to leave my wife, my mortgage was paid and I had just inherited my parents house and was financially secure, my divorce went to court and my wife was awarded the lions share. Now years later, I live in a caravan but most importantly have never been happier !

Totally had the same thoughts. Started hrt because of movement issues and anxiety. Felt better in 2 weeks, but started feeling regrets about not taking care of myself in this way much sooner. Now I’m 55, started singing lessons last year and personal training. And am thinking about WHO I want to be in the rest of my life. The stable hormone levels are just bliss. I wish I had those in my 20’s. My self esteem is so much higher than it ever was. Happy and eager for what’s to come.

Brilliant discussion. Memory loss particularly word recall - Vertigo & tinnitus never associated with menopause until listening to this podcast. How many of us walk around feeling with these symptoms that we're going insane. Lack of information - thank God for these women. My own mother began menopause in her 30's. Insomnia , massive mood swings, walking the streets in morning hours as she couldn't sleep. Diagnosis by the family Dr was she was having a nervous breakdown. Cure - electric shocks to her brain. How I would like even now at this late stage in my life to face these sadists with what they did to destroy her & our family 😢

Thankyou for a different point of view. I’m 74 and at 50 my periods stopped suddenly..I had anxiety attacks frequently and fits of rage and accusations . My doctor gave me a course of HRT but after a little while I started to bleed again so I was taken off it straight away…

@@lizearlewellbeing Thank you. I had a thickened endometrium and possible polyps. Under the 2 week window I had a hysteroscopy under GA and thankfully nothing horrible found. The surgeon suggested that HRT was causing this. I never had particularly severe symptoms, so with guidance of my menopause specialist I decided to try without HRT. The bleeding stopped within 2 weeks. I am having some symptoms, and may see a private specialist this year to have hormone levels checked (never had blood tests with NHS). I use oestrogen cream regularly because of Lichen Sclerosus and had 2 UTIs.

I have tinnitus but I connected it to the Menopause. I was also diagnosed with Labyrnthitis when I worked for the police so was unable to go out on the beat which resulted in me being station bound for 9 months......since being on the Everol patches a few years ago all dizziness has gone. I have a feeling I was misdiagnosed.....fancy that 🤔

As usual brilliant information from Liz. Although I've lived 20+ years in France, seen 4 gynecologists,2 doctors and still being refused HRT as I'm "only" 49. Oestrogen is not available here to buy in pharmacies over the counter, if it was I'd be buying it.

I suffer from debilitating symptoms itchy crawley skin, UTI, sleep anxiety and morning anxiety, numbness and pins and needles, eye problems tearing eyes, now I've got ostapinia I've been taking hrt gel I was in the patch before and wasn't absorbing it, so they put me on the gel, I also take utragestran vaginally as I'm progesterone intolerance, I'm taking this until I get my intended mireena coil taken out , ivd been waiting 9 mths.❤❤
@janemasini3569 ай бұрын
Sorry that your suffering also with progesterone intolerance. I'm awaiting to get mine replaced ,as its misplaced and I'm using utragestran vaginally ,as I can't take it orally due to the intolerance. Ask your health provider if you can switch to the mireena or even taking the utragestran vaginally, which you won't get any side effects this way. Good luck 😅

He offered me no guidance and the conversation was closed off To this day I don't honesty know if im on the other side or if I'm still going through it. So yes I'm in the dark ages

Such a positive listen. When I asked about Testosterone at my GP surgery the young female doctor said it is not prescribed or linked to the menopause!! When I mentioned your research she raised her eyes 🙄 I wonder if she’ll remember our conversation when she is going through this time of change?? Also, can I ask which dating website you used (I’d love to see my sister with someone to share her second better half). Looking forward to reading the book 🙌🏻

I have tinnitus and tried different treatments, the only thing that worked was listening to binural beats and theta waves on you tube.I had ringing in my ears daily and now only get it occasionally i dont believe there is a cure, but this is by far the best treatment that works but not 100% effective. Its important to listen daily for a while and if your at home if you get the ringing in your ears then listen the binaural and theta waves .

My fear about considering HRT is the school of thought - perhaps false, I don’t know - that it may increase your risk of developing breast cancer? I have no breast cancer in my family but am still worried about considering hrt Truth be told, my symptoms are relatively few / chief among them low mood and fatigue but that’s it - barely any hot flashes or other symptoms / I do not smoke and have not had alcohol since my early 30s / I also practice yoga and eat mainly vegetarian but my one weakness are sweets I thought of seeking out my GP re HRT to at least check out what my levels are, but then the fear re possible increased cancer risk stops me Do you have any thoughts?
