The Thai a320 fleet is leftover from Thai’s previous low cost airline Thai smile, that’s why the seats are a bit cramped. They are currently about to go under refurbishment. They will install new business class seats and economy seats with bigger legroom. They will also install wifi and wireless streaming. This should be completed by the end of next year from what I’ve heard.

Thanks for the insight. Still beats some long-haul flights I’ve taken.

For the sign that you mentioned before boarding is a C.I.Q. service. The C.I.Q. is the system that you can check through your baggage between international flight and domestic flight. For example, if you are flying from London to Phuket via Bangkok. You do not need to collect your bag at Bangkok to clear the custom. Just have to pass an immigration, and after you arrive in Phuket, follow the C.I.Q sign to collect your checked bags and do a custom clearance.

Hey, thanks for sharing. You’re right, somehow I didn’t think to talk about the CIQ sign there. Have you ever done domestic-international or vice-versa at HKT? For me it’s only been an arrival or departure airport. I do think Terminal 2 served international flights before the newer terminal was built, though (hence the middle part of the sign)

@DavidGTravels Actually, at HKT, sometimes they share the gate. As you can see that it has a corridor which linked to the international terminal during the high season HKT can be very crowded. Additionally, they are finding a place to build a new airport.

@@borinottaychamekiatchai6617 Interesting, so it's still in use?
