Rome’s drinking fountains are one of the most fascinating parts of the city, I think. Not only are they very safe to drink, they are part of an ancient network of Roman Empire ingenuity where water from aqueducts were drawn into town and released from drinking fountains for the local people (and now tourists).
Hundreds of thousands of litres of pure spring water burst forth from various fountains around the city each day, and have done so (in one form of another) for the last two thousand years.
If you’re like me, this is an exciting prospect each time you find a new fountain!
In this video I share a little more about the topic, plus the surprise true meaning of the word SPA.

Oh man I really miss that water, I visited Rome for Thanksgiving break back in 2014 and the water really was good. I don't remember the taste anymore, but I do know I want to go back and drink more. Also they do make some of the best pizzas!

Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.

"It is commonly claimed, in a commercial context, that the word is an acronym of various Latin phrases, such as salus per aquam or sanitas per aquam, meaning "health through water".[4] This is very unlikely: the derivation does not appear before the early 21st century and is probably a backronym as there is no evidence of acronyms passing into the language before the 20th century;[5] nor does it match the known Roman name for the location.[6]" - Wikipedia
