Welcome to the world of Trip Hop, pioneered in the early 90's by small groups from Bristol (this band is named after their costal town), Massive Attack and later Tricky being the originators, characterized by soft female vocals, lush strings, hip hop beats and breaks and the odd bit of scratching. Sour Times was their biggest hit, appears in a few movies and sounds like a Bond theme but anything by them is class. (their first album Dummy is earth shaking) Other notable acts include Sneaker Pimps, Lamb, Moloko, Morcheeba, Hooverphonic, Goldfrapp, Frou Frou and many more

Portishead were one of the pioneers of Trip Hop. I think the singers name is Beth Gibbons from memory.
