A brief history of the swallow boathouse on lake Winnipesaukee. In second half of the video I look for some train tracks rumored to be hiding beneath the surface of the lake #winnipesaukee #newhampshire #boathouse

Great vid. I grew up swimming at the little beach at the end of bay rd as a kid. I grew up 1/2 mile away, and a friend had ‘beach rights’ at the little beach. This particular spot had some sort of green vegetation growing on the bottom (you can see it the underwater part of iivid). When you grabbed a chunk of it, it ripped out the ‘roots’; grey mud covered clump of nastiness that smelled really bad. We simply called it ‘gruel’. It made for incredible gruel fights, and with the water being waist deep, you could launch the stuff pretty far. Anyway, I remember seeing those tracks many times. I definitely always wondered what they were for. Thanks for the info!

I kinda like the video. Was just at the boathouse last week. Are the tracks immediately kinda in front of the boathouse?

When looking at the boathouse from the lake, the tracks are a bit to the right, past the condos in about 10 feet of water. Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Its great when people choose to restore (if it’s not to far gone) rather than demolish.
