Sadly true.. Physically attractive people are naturally treated better almost everywhere. Most people base their 1st impressions about a person based on how they look and that 1st impression carries a long way. Beauty on the inside is cool and all but it helps a person move forward in life if you're beautiful on the outside. Outward beauty also gives a person the confidence to overcome other important issues. For a female, it is probably the single most important thing that she is judged on at first and a below average looking female is deemed uncool and pathetic. No wonder people like the Kardashian-Jenners and other celebrities spend millions on surgery, botox, fillers, make-up, etc. I do not advocate surgery at all, unless it's for medical purposes, but having women constantly pitted against each other based on their looks is what leads to body dysmorphism. Especially now with instagram, tinder and reality tv, photoshopping and filters, women with a low self- esteem feel even lower.
@naam47693 жыл бұрын
@@Rika-ir2wq Unfortunately many of those people who may have watched the show or comment around these episodes, for some reason keep supporting the idea about improving self-love or confidence... when in reality, male and FEMALES like and give preference to certain physical features like male height, light eye colors, bigger brea$ts, bigger hips, good face proportions, good hair style, body fully shaved and more.... The fact these people actually suggest to only improve self-esteem is rather naive to an extent, because promotes the idea that magically if you're confident then everyone will want to take you a sex-symbol which in reality doesn't happen like instagram models which, for example are big brea$ted and only because that reason they're millionarie and have endless amount of dudes who like them by just standing. Men suffer from the same sort of stuff about body dysmorphism but not featured by almost any person of audio visual media but pretty much based off genetic traits are much less likely to change or even get improved through surgery, like height / p3nis size / facial structure / women don't get more aurosed with male makeup in face / shoulders width / how deep voice tone is and more.

@@notactivenotactive5158 you just said it "for years", how do you think that i'm 31 and still no one ever said anything cool about my body ? Just get the money and get through surgery as any other girl can. Get better brea$ts, smaller nose, bigger butt with fat transfer or silicone brea$ts (they're incredibly realistic nowadays). How would you feel as a man if you were short height or small p3nis and you would know there's nothing you can do to improve it ?

Hi my name is Ayden, I’m Amy Williams (now (Lacey) kid. I’m now 15 and at the age that a lot of kids question their bodys, faces, and everything, but my mom is one of the sweetest people on the world. She constantly tells me how beautiful I am and how much she loved herself even before The Swan. But all in all (if you care) I just wanted to say she’s doing very well. She married my dad about 4 years after this episode aired and had me about a few months after that. She teaches improv at a school and is now an award winning actress. @Pr0fessorScience2 жыл бұрын
@@tessiemiller1212 former contestants have spoken out about all the therapy sessions being filmed and pretty much bogus. They were also provided with a "life coach," aka the Exec Producer of the show. The participating surgeons were the ones who decided which applicants would actually become contestants based entirely around which people they thought would have the most dramatic change for the cameras. Contestants were prevented from having any contact with the outside world aside from a weekly 10 minute *monitored* phone call with their families, and they were forcefully pushed into multiple surgeries they never even wanted due to the horrific contracts they all signed. All the contestants were friendly with each other and thought they were involved in a show about real self-improvement -- they did not know it was going to be cut to make it appear that they were shallow, catty a-holes, and they had no idea the season was supposed to culminate in a beauty pageant where they'd all be pitted against each other after all being so open and vulnerable about having physical insecurities. They went home after undergoing this traumatic process to find that friends, neighbors, community members, etc now thought they were disgusting self-obsessed monsters after seeing them on the show. Literally nothing about this show was ok. All this woman needed was dental surgery and a good therapist who was *actually* invested in helping her.

This world is superficial and when someone don't fit the mold,in some aspects, their lives aren't as easy as someone who is born beautiful. Truth. And when you are content with what's looking back at you in the mirror,it makes it easier to transform what's on the inside that no-one sees but yourself. And I admit,the inside is most important but the outside appearance is what can marry the two. Bring these shows back!!

Genuine Ginger nah. This ain't cool. Not loving who you naturally are shouldn't be normalized. I see way too many 20-year-old girls these days who look 40 because they've obviously got work done trying to look like Instagram models.

This is what happens when we keep giving priority to materialistic things, we keep comparing our happiness on the basis of it, carving for more and more because there is always someone who has more than what we have leading to never ending satisfaction.

The things is these women are already beautiful. They just lack confidence and skills. Show them a decent skin regime and the proper way to apply makeup to enhance their features give them some counselling and advice on dressing for their shape etc and they all can be stunning. They don’t need surgery they just need guidance, support, some work on their self worth and self esteem and then they are good x

I want to get plastic surgery too! I just don't feel like a beautiful girl. I've decided I want to for several months now. It will be a shock for my parents to see how different I look and some of my friends might be shocked at what a drastic measure I took - like plastic surgery for your entire face isn't something just easy. But I've decided I want it and it gives me hope and I look forward to it. How can you be against it when you can see how much freedom and self confidence she has now? She is finally feeling beautiful adn good enough. It's really her business how she spends her money at the end of the day (well she got the srugery for free here, but it's her choice what decisions she makes in life). If someone told you that with a magic wand you could change something about the way you look would you not?
@sanaaray81215 жыл бұрын
You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. When he finished his masterpiece "YOU" he was proud of his art. There is nothing wrong with you and it's only your mind telling you there is. Plus the real you is your spirit are you a beautiful person or a horrible person? That defines you. xx

You're right that it absolutely is your decision. It's a year later, I wonder if you followed through with your commitment and how are you feeling about it now? If someone told me that with a magic wand I could change something about the way I look, of course I would. Magic wands are neither dangerous nor permanent. I do change the way I look with clothes, hair color, and sometimes Halloween face paint. Big fan of henna tattoos, though I would probably never get an actual tattoo because I like the option to switch it up or go back to a natural look. But that's just my preference. People die in surgery, and I just always have to have a heavy respect for that. I like my life more than I hate my nose lol.

unless there's health problem i think the rest is sort of shallow and superficial. love yourself because you're all beautiful naturally.
@LalaLala-jz4td6 ай бұрын
you need to love youself if you do makeovers you will think that you will love yourself after it, but that's not always the case. Eventho you might like it at the moment, when you will get older it will get back at you. Because what you actually needed to do was learn to love yourself and accept yourself for who you are. And as you get older you will automatically get busier and focus more on the actual important things of life. Also everyone gets less pretty with age and if you never accepted yourself before you will have a really hard time accepting that you are getting older and "uglier". Because at a certain point you won't have the energy, money and possibilities to keep up with it. An other point is once you start changing your body you will most likely end up doing a lot of more things, because it changed the balance of your body and that will lead to a high chance of eventually becoming botched. Also if you really are unhappy with yourself try to do things like eating healthy and do sports because trust me it's more a mental thing. And with sports and healthy eating you will happier and focus less on your looks. Also get a job so you can stay busy so you are less ocupied with your insecurities. And with a job you will meet new people and learn a lot of new perspectives of life and also get out of your comfortzone more (will build confidence). Lastly try subtle things like changing your style (try different fun things) or dress for your body and maybe do makeup to enhance your futures not completely change it. When I was a teenager and in my early 20s there were so much that I wanted to change about myself, but now I am so happy that I didn't do it and now I love myself for who I am completely 100%. Btw this is not to be mean or attack you. It's just advice I wish someone gave me when I was younger. And also it is so normalized this day and age to just do plastic surgery and makeup ect when you are super young. Eventho that is bad or not needed❤

She likely could have just had a makeover without plastic surgery to achieve the same result. The before she had no makeup or styling of her hair, blah clothes. She also did not need a tummy tuck, at 27. The only thing maybe was her teeth needed fixing.

Women have body image issues because nature tells women to put other women down since our main assent and goal is to attract mates with our physical appearance. That's why the beauty industry is the biggest industry on the planet. That is the harsh reality. Those women used to have body image issues because they were ugly and the show helped them out.
