Excellent work, as usual. How you did the French accent so well is beyond me. Thoroughly creepy, no, more like terrifying. The combination of your reading and the way it's written makes it seem plausible.
@EnCryptedHorror2 жыл бұрын
@@waningmooncancer9628 Having committed to do character voices and accents back when I started this channel, I must admit to a terrible sinking feeling whenever there are long speeches delivered by heavily-accented characters (like the Frenchman in this one). If it was in the slightest convincing I have only (as many Brits do) the ancient BBC sitcom "Allo Allo" as my go-to reference point for a French accent 😆

Merci beaucoup! I deleted 4 comments- sleep deprived equals, "stunned" at my age...I thoroughly enjoyed the new channel you plugged and signed up and yes, he does indeed have a most appealing mustache! Think of all the maintenance though! I'm looking forward to his, obviously I forgot his name, sorry...I can't imagine how he'll find more unique tales than those you put your labor into- like this one- all the bells and whistles- I have to confess to avoiding your channel, my loss, for ages, because of sound effects as they usually grate on already frayed nerves- now I seek them out! You've spoiled other narrators for me - you know what and how to use them to enhance not annoy- I'd miss them if you stopped - they are like that "spoonful of sugar" enticing as cake- I can't stop thinking of Roald Dahl's greedy children- Willy Wonka, cakes, candy! Means I'm getting a megrim- I much prefer megrim to migraine- grim they are...Off to Gerricault's masterpiece, The Raft of the Medusa and perhaps, if headache permits, a viewing of R.Polanski's REPULSION, with the most appealing, Catharine Deneuve- he cleverly chose an actress so beautiful almost breakable like those dainty dustcatchers some women collect- well known English pottery- not my "bag" - her physical attributes were, how would Freud put it- the gist is- something in our mind rails against misery like a mental breakdown, perceived as "ugly" not ever therapeutic- well psychotic breaks aren't "pretty" I can't explain, but people do prefer, as several of your tales have told, the good looking and get their feathers in a state if a nervous breakdown should dare touch "those goods"- I watched a contemporary sort of knock-off, which I didn't enjoy and was hoping you had done a version of it as it seems to be related to the incubus and succubus folkloric- I AM babbling, sorry. Thank you, merci beaucoup is applicable here- I got a bit of a giggle of your French accent, not Peter Sellers as Clousseau - logically that wouldn't have worked here. How do you find these gems? Thank you for drawing deserved attention to the new channel- the mustache IS divine, but think of the maintenance! Namaste. ( I need caffeine and sugar to satisfy my monster, my megrim- I apologize for dead-ends, half- thoughts...The Raft of the Medusa, I miss my "uni" daze...oh do I...I "reread " The Catcher in the Rye, as somebody uploaded it- I liked it. Really. Really! And I found out Edith Nesbit was a very interesting woman, not just, "flat" E. Nesbit- what a "bohemian" ! The Fabian Society! I think Tony covered her life- my memory ever since those vaccinations....Sincerely H. Golightly, Traveling
@EnCryptedHorror2 жыл бұрын
As always, so much to unpack and respond to here, anonymous...so I'll just confine myself to: Catherine Deneuve! Oui, oui. Formidable. (See also: Françoise Hardy)...and Edith Nesbit, a fascinating and surprisingly radical life.
