I played my younger brother( who was too young to have heard Sweet before ) all of Sweet's singles .Interestingly his favourites were 'Fox on the Run' , 'Call Me' and 'Sixties Man' ! Brian was definitely my favourite so all of my choices would be from his time in the group. For the record (no pun intended) ,Steve Priest has stated that he hated this song !

Fair enough, i have them all too, there was still a few rock songs on Waters Edge and Identity Crisis had even more rock songs on it again

Steve has said that he hated having to sing this song .I have been a Sweet fan since my childhood but my younger brother was too young to remember them. He heard me playing a comprehensive 'Best of' Sweet CD and I asked him which songs he thought were the best .He told me 'Fox on the Run' , 'Call Me' and 'Sixties Man' !!! The Jeff Lynne comparison probably goes some way to explaining why some people mistakenly think that 'Love is Like Oxygen' is actually an ELO song !

:) my comment wasn't a question, but thanx anyway :) I have the complete discography of The Sweet including all albums without Brian. However this kind of music was not the rock, not the one The Sweet used to play, no matter how Steve is great singer. The reference is "No you don't". This sound is lost in synthetic pop. It was fun, though, in the 80's :)

If songs like "Windy City" and "Set Me Free" weren't metal, then what was back then?

All Andy needed were Jeff Lynne's sunglasses

YEAH !!! THAT`S HORNY MUSIC !!! SWEET 4ever (BUT BRIAN IS MISSING HERE...)!!!
Not sure what Sweet were doing using other people's songs like this one as a single. There are better songs on the album that this is off (Waters Edge) that they wrote themselves.

Nope, it's Andy Scott. He did the whole bearded look for a while.

I like them better when they're playing metal.

80's killed the rock. Andy was "saving fingers and the guitars" and employed Gary Moberly on sinth! Not disco, not pop ... what was this?!

Generally, it's sad to see great bands from the 60s and 70s doing music videos in the 80s with big hair, big shouldered suits, and overproduction killing their essence, but this Sweet song is well written and performed, though lacking in the earlier rowdiness. Is that Jeff Lynne accompanying Steve Priest?

What a load of horse shit, Level Headed is a great forgotten classic album and the ones that followed aren't too bad either.
