I started playing drums at 12 in 1976. I am so thankful that I was able to learn from Mick Tucker. There harmonys were absolutely out of this world. You've got a band who every one of them could sing. A drummer who i.m.o. was the most underrated drummer in the history of rock. A lead singer who was pure gold, and songs that were arranged so well. The Sweet is one of the greatest bands to ever form. They almost sounded like Queen when the all sang together. I loved them then, and I still love listening to them now. Unfortunately someone, somehow mismanaged their contracts. They should have been multi millionaires after they sold so many records. Somebody got very wealthy, but it wasn't them. Not for as many albums they sold. Love you Sweet! Rest in Peace. Brian, Sfeve, and Mick. You are sorely missed brothers!

It IS live... the backing track is the acoustic guitar.Brian, Andy and all the band were always amazing, they practiced like crazy and strived for perfection. Such an underrated super talented band that wrote many great songs that they could also pull off live. Stuck with the bubblegum pop label. Anything from the official sweet channel is worthwhile.

Typical fan boy / girl comment. It`s NOT live and it shows on many occasions. This is a British format that was quite common back at that time, where the instruments were pre - recorded at the set and played back during video shoot. The only part live here are the lead vocals.
@mermaidmotel50645 жыл бұрын
Cl4rendon Exactly. The lead vocals are really impressive though. Especially it being live
@sickofit92473 жыл бұрын
@@Cl4rendon Bullshit! The acoustic guitar IS a pre-recorded track which they used at all their live concerts along with other pre-recorded samples. The Sweet were using samples in live concerts YEARS before most others, which shows how far ahead of their time they were. Do you really think they spent all afternoon at the TV studio recording bass drums & guitars before filming? That is laughable. Any musician worth their salt can see & hear it's played live real time. Thank you.

Hi Phillip. Ahhh, a mate with German descent? And you have visited him several times in Germany? Cool - if I have properly understood! Do you speak some German? I live in the western part on Germany, not far from Dusseldorf remotely. But in Australia I never was :-( However in NY/USA for Christmas shopping😉

Great to hear good old Sweet from our teenage years, means a lot. They sure evolved to play some serious melodic rock over time, but I believe it means more to us who lived at the time and knows the songs and has the memories from back then. No news that loads of bands are inspired by them. Great voice by mr Connolly

54 yrs old. The earliest musical memories I have were dancing on our kitchen table to Wig Wam Bam. Never stopped loving them since. This song is just a brilliant musical story with superb vocals, intelligent changes of tempos, and a kicking bass composition. Queen did a version called It's Late, which in itself is rock royalty.
