The sweet & solitude of goat chores in the cold

It was a beautiful and quiet morning as the snow was softly falling. It was cold enough to almost immediately freeze the goat milk on the stand.
The goats weren't sure they were ready to come out into the snow.
Get out with those goats and spend time with them!

Wow its so cold there! Our high today in texas is 76!. Your a trooper workin in all that snow. I loved watching the issues at the gate because i deal with it also lol your videos make me smile thank you

76° sounds delightful! The gate has been much better since breeding. I separated goats and there’s less to fight at one time 😂 It can get a little scetchy at the door when they all want in 😂

You are surely dedicated to milk in those temperatures. I lived outside Yellowstone Park in WY and thought it was pretty cold there. The wind was the worst. No way would I milk in the winter there. I am a wimp lol. Your Guinea is saying, "Hey, I am an African bird, I tell ya! What's up with all this white stuff?" lol

The guineas are always saying “hey squawk!” About everything 😂 they are so full of drama 😆 Wind is my least favorite! But we get through with the thought “warm is coming, spring is coming” over and over and over again until spring 😂🤪

-7at my place the other day. I went out and built an outside fire and the goats learned how to warm themselves next to open fire

The goats definitely don’t mind 😂 It’s been an insecurity all my life. 😆People born with visible eyelashes and eyebrows don’t understand the struggle. And it’s usually them who make comments about how pure they are because they “never” wear makeup-but they don’t need it! They have eyebrows and eyelashes! 🤪

Drink it, make mozzarella and yogurt and cook with it. And I sell about a gallon a day to people in my area 😊

Boy I really need to talk to you. My one goat Possum she is a Nigerian she had one live baby and one the vet delivered not a live. The vet said she shouldn’t have any more babies this is her 3rd time she has beautiful babies She had a problem last year when she had 4 babies had to have the last one delivered by the vet it was twisted and this one was bent in half. All the vet told me was she was to fat Not why she shouldn’t have babies she’s beautiful good mom she’s 5 yrs old just fat I’m trying right now to slim her down to a healthy weight but it’s hard to I think she’s kinda the queen of all of them. It’s a tie between her and Lucie. She has stunning babies I could show them all but don’t like doing that Can you help me on trying to get her weight off I was just looking at the girls and I think I’m over feeding them I wanted to order your binder but it say it’s not secure site I really need it Oh and now the food I buy doesn’t seem as good of quality. Here’s what I feed them Goat Food: Alfalfa Hay Grazer Timothy Hay Oat Hay Sweet Feed Graham Crackers Minerals Baking Soda Alfalfa pellets Thanks Delci

Hi! I can help! I’d switch her to grass hay or orchard I would decrease/cut out her sweet feed (that will put wieght in her fast) no gram crackers more then once a week if any, decrease alfalfa pellets so basically her diet should consist of: orchard hay, maybe a little grain depending on body condition, minerals and fresh water

I agree with the above comment. Cut everything out but hay and minerals. And cut down on hay if there’s a lot of hay waste or they have a lot left when you feed again. This is hard depending on your location but if you can get her moving more. It’ll help trim her down and maybe tone her up too.

@@ravenbrown74 I’m not sure why the site says it’s not secure I’ve sold 4500 binders without any issues. But I’m truly sorry for the problems with the vet and animals. That’s hard!
