In this video I look over my previous video about me making a broadsword. I mainly look at the struggles I faced when making it. I hope you enjoy.

Nice job man! Question for you, how long is the blade? And how long did it take you to get to quenching heat with your forge setup? Reason I ask is I have a two burner propane forge and am looking to do my first Viking Sword with a 30" blade and I want to make sure I can get an even heat treat with my current setup. Thanks in advance!

My first blade was somewhere around 40 inches, but the second one was 32 inches long plus tang. In the video you see me using both my single burner and two burner forge to heat the sword. It took a while to get an even heat. I think I spent the entire night on the heat treat because not just was I quenching, but I was also thermal cycling it. I would give myself at least a couple of hours to do it. Keep in mind that the sun goes down faster than you think. To answer your second question, it took at least 10 minutes to get an even heat through the second blade. I think that you should be able to do it with a two burner set up. I was just using the second forge because I had it. Good luck and God bless!

@@BoscoForge Thank you for response, God bless to you as well! Also, I love that Andúril was your inspiration for this sword. My first sword I made was Orcrist from The Hobbit and I put similar time constraints on myself like you did. Planning on having more time with this build, but it is good to push ourselves and put time constraints on things to force ourselves to commit to a finished creation. Keep up the good work and I hope you are still able to create while you are at college!

I appreciate the support. Unfortunately while in college I am do not have access to my shop, but I will be joining a wood shop. Good luck with your projects as well.
