A very interesting piece of musical history. The band had a radio series around that time and Kevin Kent was the compère on that too. He looks very nervous on tv but sings well as always. The band sounds great on all the old classic big band numbers. Norman Brown the tenor soloist and of course Syd on trumpet. I assume it was a pilot that didn’t become a series. The band of course did appear on tv in the early 70’s on Sez Les( I think ?) with Les Dawson getting his own show. Happy days 😊

Terrific. The band that recorded all those early LPs that made us fall in love with the SLO. Always fantastic to watch this amazing time capsule of a recording. It never gets old.

Fabulous really enjoyed this, seeing the first band. How well they played, didn't know many of the originals but I thought how sharp they were and Syd's trumpet was on fire. well done the vocalists too.
