As a single mom that has a small business and is financially responsible for 2 kids. I have always thought buying a house was not a good idea, but over the years I started thinking I was doing something wrong. I needed to hear this today. I work and travel with my kids when I can, we have been fortunate because I have always lived a very simple life and prioritize time with my kids over anything. I do believe anyone can start a business, learn a skill that you like and then become obsessed with it. Be the best in your area then grow. As a 44 yr old just learning how crucial using social media is to any business. I'm excited to be on my way to not living broke in between each client. I'm teaching myself financial literacy so I can teach my children. With people like Simon and Luke giving out advice, I hope you not just listen but you implement them into your life. You could be 1 year away from a completely different life. Creating the life that you want to live has never been easier with everything that is online. Either you use the internet for your advantage or it will take advantage of you. I hope that each and everyone of you find your dream that feeds your soul and you can help others from the heart.

I just listened to Simon's podcast, and I felt compelled to share something. Everything Simon talked about-politics, school systems, business, and medical care-are topics I've been discussing for the past six years. Back then, my friends and family thought something was wrong with me for questioning the system. For a while, I even doubted myself, thinking I might not be normal since everyone else seemed to follow the systems without question. But over time, I realised that I wasn't wrong. I knew deep down that my perspective was valid, and I decided to stick with my opinions regardless of what others said. Hearing Simon articulate these same thoughts in his podcast was incredibly validating for me. It's reassuring to know that I'm not alone in my beliefs and that others are starting to see things the way I have.
@CMackenzie-e5u

Let me assure you, you're most definitely not alone in your thoughts on these topics. I also had a very enquiring mind at a young age and whenever I questioned certain things even like 'Isn't is strange that so many people just accept doing something they completely hate for most of the week and then get blind drunk at the weekends to blot it all out only to rinse and repeat it all again the following Monday?" I got told by so many of my peers, 'Well, that's just life." That's just the way life works." etc etc as they put me back in my place. I was treated like an immature idiot for questioning so much of the toxicity in the world and the toxic systems that so many have just accepted as 'normal'. I wish I'd known people like you as I wouldn't have felt such a weirdo and almost like I was the crazy one!

30:00 in, hes totally correct. I was literally homeless at 30 and offered to do yard clean-up in the spring i didn't even have equipment i just used the customer's yard tools. But the internet(edited) existed unlike our storyteller so i could post free ads online . In a month i Made a free website and a tooj advantage of a sale from a printer for some door hangers and business cards and just stick with the free logo from theirb website. I earn more what just humble men would consider more than enough. I don't want the stress and competitivity of selling my business and doing it with something else. And i haven't had to hire a single soul i just grew and now I'm living a good life. Mowing lawns and picking up yard waste.

@@bobak5126 yes I'm fact where I live the world is a frozen snowing wasteland for 4-5 months of the year. In my first year starting this I had bought a truck and equipment but didn't make enough to afford rent anywhere that was secure and safe. To solve the "I'm going to freeze to death before spring" issue, and as a recommendation to others..., I took a caretaker position for an apartment block. For any hour or two of closing and a few emails and writing notices, I paid zero rent on a 2br apartment and started warm. While I did offer snow clearing to existing customers, only a few needed it or wanted it so at first I thought I'd lost a whole year and would have to start all over again but every single customer came back in the spring and came with referrals for new customers too! It's a good thing too because I'm between "caretakering" and chasing a few driveways when it snowed I spent most of my time thinking my basic website, learning from KZbin channels the finer points of my industry, and took up a part time job just for the cash, which obviously I reinvested into the lawn care. But if you're in a similar climate and considering this line of work I recommend what I started doing in my 5th year, offering a full premium property maintenance schedule for the spring through fall and financing it over 12 months to the client, so that when it snows they still pay for services they've either airway recieved or will receive in the spring (and it presents as an easier bite out of a customer's bank account while making sure to keep me financed without running out of savings over the winter

So true. Once I traveled I realized news on the same topic was presented from different perceptions. Life styles, properties, and attitudes are vastly different from other places in one’s country and world. Traveling removes the rose tinted glasses and allows you to see the bigger picture. What once appeared as reality no longer holds any value or meaning.

I'm still in school, when I started hearing about the system was wrong I felt like I wasn't being depressed for any reason. There's a meaning behind people feel bad about life. I learned much more watching podcast of Mike, Christ, Lewis, Andrew huberman and the list continues than in school. The internet is the savior of our generation, if you choose that. Learning has never been so satisfied with internet. People are starting to awake and this is amazing to fight the system. Awareness is what Detaches people from mediocrity to abundance. Thanks Simon for making me feeling there's still hope in education and other subjects and thanks Mike for keeping bringing amazing episodes and amazing guests. I'm not funny, but it's pretty obvious why the government wouldn't teach its population how to manage money. How will money funnel up to the top if everyone knows how not to waste it? A lot of things would break down with the current setup if everyone stopped mindlessly consuming and spending. And the people at the top naturally want to stay at the top. This is why you have to seek the information yourself, learn how to delay gratification, and take extreme action to fail and learn your way to success

My cousin, who was an extremely successful businessman and entrepreneur, did a huge amount of business in Hong Kong (as well as South America and London). He said they called Hong Kong "the honey pot of Asia" with people writing their CV's on the plane over, and everyone there was busy making money from the top people to the disabled on the sidewalk shinning shoes. The jobs section in the local Hing Kong papers ran for pages and pages! I had the chance to go in the mid 1990's with my cousin offering to show me the ropes over there, but did not go in the end as i had left the Forces in the early 1990's, and having been in two Wars, my head was not in the right place at that time. Of course, i am now racked with that "what could have been?" feeling, but i am glad Simon went and things turned out well for him, and he is here to inspire us and show that we do not need to be anchored to one Country, and that doors can and will open when your broaden your horizons.

@@who_is_dis is this a serious question? Really?? It’s called being out in the world to talk to everybody. Homeschooled children are taught to actually have a proper conversation with adults. We had a homeschool group and the kids got together one or two days a week just for the group and then any other day if they have friends over. When people bring up the whole socialization issue with homeschooled kids it’s because they have heard that somewhere and don’t even stop to think what they are repeating. Homeschooled kids have fabulous life skills because they are with us when we go shopping and you know… see people of all ages to speak to them

As a teacher myself school is still so paramount to the next generation and is helping and inspiring kids, giving them the quality time that even a lot of the kids parents don’t give. The school system also frustrates me and financial literacy should 100% be taught in schools… however nearly all teachers are not financially literate, myself included. Cheers fellas

This is the best thing about KZbin you can listen to passionate people talk about business and not a boring teacher teaching you what X-4+6 is. Surely school doesn’t still teach like that? I for one be teaching my kid the things the teachers failed to tell me about money and life skills . I left school dumb as f but feel like since ive left in the last 14 years I’ve over taken the people who got A’s in school work . Then going to uni getting themselves in debt and having to work in Starbucks stressed . That’s because they’ve been learning pointless Shi all there lives yes they might of took all the information in well but imagine if they was taught properly? they’d be flying right now

Simon is brilliant. Yes a house is a liability to me also, your philosophy is similar to that of Robert Kiyosaki - an asset puts money in your pocket and a liability takes money out of your pocket. It’s still possible to escape the rat race working a 9-5, but it’s almost impossible. Even the Senior guys in my organisation are living month to month, and it’s not until you reach director level that you may be able to break away - but time is of the essence and you’d be lucky to work in our place for 20 years before that’s even a possibility. I’ve seen recently a guy similar age to me, his own business, he’s already financially free and able to work when and where he wants. It’s lit a fire in me to do better and being out the best in me. It’s easy just to become complacent and accept your lot in life. I really need to break away from the 9-5 and make something of myself. There’s a profound change coming in the next 10 years… I feel we need to act quickly before it’s too late. Thank you for the words of wisdom Simon and thank you for hosting Mike!

People like Simon are world class at marketing and doesn’t care about annoying people in the street with a mic that’s why he has made it so high . But most people would be scared to even post a video of them self talking about their products online never mind doing what he does . Most Businesses will hardly make any money it just looks easy because there is so many what have made it and a lot of the ones who have made its probably taken them years of earning peanuts but in these times unless you live with your mum you can’t risk that .

Totally aligned with Simon about the education system. I was an IT teacher for a decade and a half, and that was one of my greatest battles with colleagues and the entire system itself. Almost two decades later, working in several roles and fields related with IT, I confirm over and over that many of the "kids" coming out of Uni are not at all prepared for the "real" world of work. A lot of information in those minds, loosely coupled, without great practical application, or having a hard time to have things discovered and done by themselves. And, in certain types of organisations (I actually believe in many), it increases the gap between roles and status over wisdom, skills and experience, where the first are often taken as preferential for promotions, leadership roles, etc. It's hard to believe that societies, at least the ones I know, are still today running on such basis.

I was hyper focussed on something that I wasn't able to have pan out at the time, and had no guidance outside of it. My guidance was "either get a job (which I did, I was working all kinds of service jobs) or go to uni". That kinda work was a dead end so I folded and went to do a stupid business degree followed by a marketing msc because they offered a steep discount. Fuck me, I swear that was the downfall of my 20's. Now 29 and been try hard af since 26/27 to make up for it.

It's amazing how those who risk financial ruin buying an asset at huge cost with a mortgage are now to blame for 2 decades of open borders which mean young British adults are out priced. Where do you think these people live at night on the moon? No, they CONSUME housing that take from your own. Slave sheeple mind for WEF policy.👎🏻

It won't be soon before all of our dreams are going to be one dream, clean air, water, and food. If we do not get rid of the psychopaths in power, it will never happen. They are mad, we need wise people like Paul Chek leading the way, thinking 7 generations ahead like our ancestors used to live....

Loved Simon’s response to the slightly xenophobic position Mike takes on other ethnicities in Britain, a country whose empire stretched the globe, now doesn’t want anything to do with the ethnicities they had their thumb on for centuries.

mike, just a quick observation, because this never happens in business interviews on youtube, ask them how did they see a gap in the market to start their businesses, how did they see the opportunity that they thought that that was a good avenue to go for, what made them come up with the idea in the first place, how did they get funded, did they use their own capital to start their businesses, did they start to turn profit straight away, did they use social media to market before spending on ads, how much do they spend on ads, what was the best social media platform that they used to build their businesses?... this is the most important information that people need to get an idea to follow that path.

What Simon says about giving to people. I opened a boxing gym for kids who need a path in life. I used to box, it helped me as a teenager with no direction in life. Taught me discipline and strength. I want to give back. But its hard when you have a business of your own and the rent is barely covered by the income

I love the passion! It's sooo annoying the way Britain is being run. The fact that everything else apart from education and politics has evolved but with education its still in the years of 'sit up straight, single file and dont speak'. It's sooo tailored for the old days of factory work and regimented bullshit. There's no REAL interaction with the children as to what they are interested in and good at. These year are priceless years and should be learning the way of life, not all doing their times table aloud all together like robots in the 80s. Plus the GCSE years... It's way too early for kids to know what the hell they want to do for the rest of their lives (once again stuck in the factory ages), Im 38 years old, have a degree in graphic design, been a designer for 16 years, own 2 businesses and still dont know what to do with my life! As for UK politics... Stuck in the 80s is an understatement! Making sheep noises and basically saying what people "think they want to hear" and then once elected they do whatever the fuck they want. This "UK system" as a whole is broken. It'll take a huuuuge undertaking to get rid of all the dead-wood people and make everyone realise that these buildings that they use are totally un needed and could hot desk, saving us tax payers millions per year, and that's just the start... Its madness! And I 10000% agree with @SimonSquibb on this. I'd looove to just have an hour of his time and to bounce some ideas with him. He seems like my kinda guy.

this is one of the greatest and most honest video I have ever watched thank you Simon you telling us what we need to hear not what the corporations want us to hear. As far as buying a home goes you are right why buy a home that will drain your life only to have your children sell it and not get nothing out of it.

Great talk, tho you judged Los Angeles over a photo? I realize you were young. I have found it takes a good three weeks+ to give a place a chance. As you stated, we grow thru pain. Thanks for being a great example of getting past it, I just found that peculiar. Fixing our karma thru pain works! Taking easy way out always backfires. May your words be food for thought to those that need it. I for one am thankful for all the bad in my life. Like a diamond in the rough, it works!

I completely agree with Simon when he speaks about the difference of paying a lot of money for a course. I paid 10K for a course and I feel I got hardly any value from it because at the end of it I needed a 1 to 1 mentor not a course. I see it as a waste of money. Completely agree with everything he is saying. Wise man.
