Love this! I tend to impulse buy at night when I am in chilling. It's gotten better since I gave up all social media (you tube aside) but still find at night when I am relaxing and tired and reflecting on my day and feeling the stress from my job that I tend to buy things I don't need and don't even really want. I have gotten good at returning stuff but that wastes resources and my time.

i think i must'vs stolen the wishlist notion odea from you then, maybe from another video? either way, i've been doing it since january and it worka great. i don't use notion on a daily basis, but it's my financial and purchase planner. as for the wishlist, i add the date and price goal. then, if i buy it, i qadd rhe purchase date and actual price. to make things more visual, i have three emojis: green for under budget, red for over budget and orange for things i don't want anymore (i keep them on the list to help curb impulse buys) like i've wanted a better toilet seat and two months later, i was able to coupon code my way to a 50% off product. i wanted a comforter, but then, a few weeks later, i decided o didn't want it anymore, price unrelated, so it's orange. it's been a great system, so far only one thing was out of budget, a hair care thing, but then again, i waited a month to buy, so less impulsive even if i didn't enjoy a discounted rate.

aww i love this! i use notion for my wishlist too :) it's game changing!! for the skincare, i can def speak on this!! i used to try to find the best zero waste products for rosacea but they ALL irritated my skin. it's either the oils they used in their compositions, or something else, but i didn't find anything i liked until i gave la roche posay's eczema moisturizer a try, and i now solely use LRP for skincare. it's not perfectly zero waste of course, because you have to buy the bottles - however, i do like that their bottles are pretty big so it lasts me quite a while!

Some of their products come in refill pouches, not much of a better option but still 😊

oh refill pouches are far and away a better option! they use like a fraction of the materials as a conventional plastic bottle and are much lighter to ship

When do you take items off the list? I.e. is it when it's sat on the list for a certain period of time?

that's a really good question that i have to admit i haven't given much thought to! i guess i just go with my gut in most instances, like okay i'm kinda over this obsession so i'll remove it! but several times it was actually the pro/con list and the impulse purchase prompts [preloaded in the template] that made me change my mind about a wishlist item! and in the case of the electric kettle that's been on my list for almost 2 years, i still really want it and could get amazing use out of it, i'm just not actively searching for it if that makes sense? i could for sure see how a self-imposed "expiration date" on wishlist items might be helpful though!!
