Same here. got the X20PRO AW, And loving it. And still learning different ways to set things up. Like it so much I also got the X18SE as a backup/trainer. Still converting around 140 planes from Spektrum; DX20 and IX20SE.

Bro, huge respect for you and your work. I've purchased from you before as well. But why don't you go ELRS? I know you'll have to run a stand alone gyro, but ELRS is dummy proof. Single receiver, can fly on as little as 10mw power for as far as you can see (I fly on 250mw). I know asking you to change to a new system might not work due to how far Spektrum has their tentacles in most of the pilots of our hobby. I've only been flying for 7 months, but I've come extremely far in a short amount of time, maybe you read this, maybe you don't, but know that I wouldn't tell you this if I didn't care. Keep pushing bro! And congratulations for your new roll with Motion. Push them hard on dropping that 80mm F-35, lol.

Congratulations on joining Motion RC. I buy most of my planes from them. I've looked at the FrSky X18, but since I mostly fly Spektrum AS3X/SAFE receivers and have the iX14, I can't justify switching. I also have a RadioMaster TX16S with ELRS for the FPV stuff, so I have most of the bases covered.

Congrats on your new venture! Should be fun. I also recently acquired a FrSky (X20 Pro AW). 2.4GHZ is full of fixed point-to-point links which can legally transmit hotter, so I wanted to try dual-band for safety/redundancy on bigger planes. I like a lot of things about it, but the downside is that it takes some work.

Congrats! I'm happy that you have gotten yourself through the sad times. After a few crashes of my own last season I just picked up a RCFactory big Yak (1m) that is not really my thing, but having something so ugly (and not expensive) to fly and the extreme ease of repair if there is any damage makes my flying experience so much more enjoyable when bouncing back from self-doubt. Not standing there with my knees shaking and just throwing it around is a very nice change for a while and also building my confidence back up. Looking forward to keep follow you with your enthusiasm and amazing builds. Take care! Oh, and look into getting a radio with EdgeTX and ELRS, that's definitely the tip of the spear in RC-technology.

Congratulations on your new job with Motion! Hopefully you will have some input on new planes coming especially Warbirds and jets. You are a great modeler and hopefully Motion will listen to your thoughts on new planes coming and everything will be great. Keep the Builds coming nothing like your scale details and painting. Motion needs a F-4D Skyray in 80 mm hint hint. They have been produced years ago by Some hobby supplier in California and you probably remember it. It was a foamy but didn’t have retracts. Suggest one just like yours with a couple of different Liverys to pick from. Good luck and Great Flying !

This is a perfect example of a radio needing a crutch like satellites, illustrating that it is an inferior system. I never have and never will use a system that requires satellites. I have recently moved on to FrSky and I love it so far. The benefit is there is a ton of content for specific set ups, as the radios are so popular. We have been seeing interference issues on 2.4 so the tandem band of 900 mhz. and 2.4 is getting to be more important.

@Thercgeek10 күн бұрын
Cool you still have the A8! Due to the small cowl size, not sure gas is much of an option without having to jack up the cowl. So, will probably be electric to maintain the cowl integrity and looks.

Congratulations Chris. MotionRC must be over the moon gaining your services. Bit of no brainer for them with your skills and experience. Looking forward to that. 🤛🤩 nice new flightline Lancaster or a mossy or big p40 would be awesome. 🤩😂 T28 video was hard watch and I think anyone watching that video felt absolutely gutted for you. I use both spektrum and the FrSky radios. Once you get your head around programming the frsky you’ll be fine. Like you I really like the diversity and twin protocols with 2.4 and 900mhz for redundancy. I use it to guide a giant Heinkel He111 but I still use my Spektrum tx for DP models and most of my warbirds, I also find spektrum gear great for buddying up people and forward programming at the field is awesome. Any ways love the videos. Looking forward to watching your journey unfold in 2025. Happy flying fella.

Yeah, those are both excellent choices, but they won’t fit in the cowl without cutting it up. I have a really hard time cutting up a cowl for engine cylinders. We’ll see

Chris, i really appreciate you expressing the emotional side of your journey through this amazing hobby. I've only been involved for a couple of years. But, i can relate to all of the highs and lows you refer to. I even tried my hand at posting content. It was just too dang hard. At the end of the day, all we have is our health, our loved ones and memories- good and bad (oh, and debt😊). I'm sure i dont need to tell you, but the lessons im most grateful for are the absolute toughest ones I've lived through. Didn't kill me-made me stronger. That said, i cant bring myself to rewatch the T28 video. Too traumatic. 😊 Anyway, thanks for opening up to us. You've got a lot of folks pullin' for ya, Chris. Probably more than you know 👍

Yeap, like life your have your highs and lows... they say crashing is part of the hobby and that is true but what they don't say is that its devastating when it happens especially when its a model that has taken time to put together.... I too have have some "disagreements" with some of my larger models and I have always found the strength to rebuild them which I find very therapeutic and it makes you a better builder and you can experiment with mods and upgrades and it spirals up from there.... we all have had those why did I do that or not see that or test that when the time comes to the actual flight......... that is why I film all my flights (plus ones at the clubs) so others can see whats good and bad and hopefully learn from it..... if you want to see some aussie flying vids please feel free to have a laugh at my channel.... its a good cure for insomnia... and congrats on the team position...... take care and stay safe.... greetings from down under.
