What's the hardest book that you've read - Eco's Foucault's Pendulum. Makes Naked Lunch read like Dr. Suess. All the Light You Can Not See is such a story, thank you Steve!

all the Light we Cannot See is amazing. I was surprised that Doerr is a McCarthy fan, considering that Doerr's prose in that book is actually good. A little choppy, much like Ellroy in The Cold Six Thousand, but id rather have that than the run-on prose in Blood Meridian, which just makes me sick to be stomach

Is it possible that publishers are starting to go electronic for galleys? I ask as an outsider and out of ignorance, but it seems like a way to be economical.

The Tour de France is one thing - ask him if he's ever thought of (or marvelous!) done the Marathon du Medoc. At least he should be able to tell you about it so you drool the way I did. It's incredible
